Brazil - Copacabana Beach

Copacabana is undoubtedly one of the greatest beaches in the world. Copacabana beach resort is located in the southern zone of Rio de Janeiro. The resort was named after the renowned Copacabana Palace Hotel that gained popularity during the 1920’s.

With its golden colored sand the beach is fit for beach games such as volleyball and barefoot soccer. Copacabana is not just for the athletic but anyone who likes a good party. On New Year’s Eve it’s the place to be; everyone dancing with the sands caressing their toes, wrapped in the cool breeze, and enjoying the fabulous firework display. The best time to visit the resort is during the summer as the average temperature goes up as high as 30C. At Copacabana you wake up with the calming blue waters and surf till u drop while refreshing your self on the luscious icy Acai mixed with cereal and frozen fruits. Sundays are the best time to hit the market when it’s closed for driving giving way to carts that sell a variety of items. This is the best time to buy souvenir. After you’ve finished shopping have your fill at the Rodizio. It only cost an entrance fee and you are able to eat all you want. Need a little entertainment? Get a taste of Brazilian musician Bip Bip will cater to your preference on Tuesdays and Sundays. To top it all off get a bird’s eye view of Copacabana beach resort at the Skylab bar.
