Northwest Point Beach is situated in the island of Providenciales, more commonly known as “Provo,” in Turks and Caicos, British West Indies, which lies southeast of the Bahamas and 575 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. Turks and Caicos is known for its powdery white beaches, crystal blue waters and summer climate throughout the year. Visitors will enjoy North American amenities, fresh air and hospitable locals in Provo, which is one of the more populous islands of Turks and Caicos.

Northwest Point Beach is a scuba diving paradise, featuring steep walls that are teeming with marine life as well as numerous gulleys, cracks and overhangs. The sea bed sharply drops off several thousands feet into the blue waters that divers are advised to take a flashlight with them. One of the best dive sites in Northwest Point is the Thunder Dome, which features a wall dive and a dome-shaped steel structure covered with corals, where various colorful fishes thrive.

The diversity of marine life found in Northwest Point is breathtaking - – from beautiful corals, eel gardens and various fishes such as Parrot Fish, Blue Tang, Angelfish, to turtles and even Reef and Hammerhead sharks. Northwest Point offers excellent diving throughout the year, but especially during the winter months from November through March. Humpbacks typically hang around the waters of Northwest Point during January through March. With Provo being the most developed island in Turks and Caicos, good accommodations are not hard to find.

Two of the best know resorts in Northwest Point are Amanyara and Northwest Point Resort. Amanyara Resort fronts an 800-meter pristine sandy beach and provides easy access to the coral reef walls protected by the Northwest Point Marine National Park. Northwest Point Resort’s location is sparsely populated, making it an ideal island getaway. Visitors can walk for miles on the resort’s sandy beach or relax with a good boon on a lounger chaise beside the swimming pool or on towel on the beach.
