Despite the obvious beauty of the beach at Bamburgh , it is one of the few places where you will find yourself more inclined to look inland than out to sea because of Bamburgh Castle which overlooks the sea. Northumberland has numerous castles, but the view of the castle from the beach is unforgettable. The beach is and expanse of golden sand backed by sand dunes.
