Romeo, Raven Symone, Jill Marie Jones, Brandon T. Jackson and Brian J. White all posed for photos on the red carpet of the 21st Annual NAACP Theater Awards.
Held in Hollywood, CA last night (Aug 29) at the Directors Guild of America, the event also brought on appearances from Orlando Jones, Niecy Nash, Jurnee Smollett, Billy Dee Williams and more.

Dressed and styled as her male alter-ego Jo Calderone, Lady Gaga opened the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards with a very strange rendition of her latest single “You and I.”
But before sitting down at her piano to play the tune, Lady Gaga — excuse us, we mean Jo Calderone — emerged on the dark, empty stage wearing a black suit and dingy white T-shirt with slick black hair and a lit cigarette she continued to puff on as she ranted on during a nearly 4-minute opening monologue.
After playing the more jazzy version of “You and I,” the Pop star was joined by a slew of male back-up singers who danced along to the uptempo version of the song currently playing on the radio now.

Rapper Pitbull was joined by R&B singer Ne-Yo (along with a bevy of beautiful women) on stage during last night’s 2011 MTV VMAs, where the duo performed Pitbull’s hit single “Give Me Everything.”

Everybody’s favorite rapping duo Kanye West and Jay-Z — aka “The Throne” — showed up and showed out last night (Sun. Aug 28) at the VMAs!
The pair, who just released their joint album “Watch the Throne” a few weeks ago, delivered a highly energetic rendition of their single “Otis.” The performance had so much energy, in fact, that a fan decided he’d Lil Mama the stage (around the 1:40 mark) but was swiftly removed by MTV security.

Last night, MTV took a few minutes to pay tribute to one of Pop music’s greatest performers: Britney Spears!

Introduced by Lady Gaga — er, we we mean Jo Calderone — a group of young girls, dressed in Britney’s various iconic outfits, danced up a storm to a mash-up of Britney’s hit singles, including “Baby One More Time,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Slave 4 U,” “Toxic,” “Hold It Against Me” and “Til the World Ends.”

Immediately after the tribute performance, Jo presented Britney with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and tried to seal it with a kiss, but Britney wasn’t having it. “I’ve done that already,” Britney quipped. “I don’t want Gaga to get pissed,” Jo said after Britney turned down his advance.

“Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet, I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me,” Beyonce said last night at the MTV VMAs as an introduction to her performance, hinting at her pregnancy, which she announced on the black carpet just an hour or so prior.
A pregnant Beyonce took the stage in heels, a black and white tuxedo, topped off with a black and purple sparkly sequined jacket, Sunday night (Aug 28) and performed “Love On Top,” a song from her platinum-selling album “4,” which was just released 2 short months ago.
After Beyonce and her voice brought down the house (sidenote: this girl can SANG!) she ended her performance by dropping her mic, opening up her jacket and rubbing her baby bump, which was met with a round of applause and a standing ovation. The cameras then cut to Kanye West and Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z, who both couldn’t contain their excitement and were seen with huge smiles on their faces as Kanye congratulated his pal.

Chris Brown cranked the energy level up a couple of notches at last night’s VMAs with his high-energy performance, which consisted of a medley of hits, some his own, some not.
Breezy, dressed in all white, kicked off his showing with the club-friendly “Yeah 3X” before transitioning into a dance breakdown to “Protect Ya Neck” (by Wu-Tang Clan) and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” After rocking out to Nirvana, the R&B singer was hoisted in the air and flew above the crowd as he performed “Beautiful People,” a cut from his latest album “F.A.M.E.”
One of the most epic performances of the night, if you ask us!

Lil Wayne rocked the stage — literally — as he closed out this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
But first, the rapper, whose new album “Tha Carter IV” is in stores as of today, showed off his sensitive side with his Hip-Hop ballad “How to Love.” He then ripped his shirt off and moved into a high-energy rock-and-roll inspired performance of “John,” which he ended by smashing an electric guitar on the stage.

The Biebs was also spotted kicking it with Lil Wayne and Adele. Other celebs spotted backstage, in the audience and in various other places around the scene of the VMAs were Jay-Z, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and more.
