Tamar Braxton Explains Why She Added “She Can Have You” On Her Christmas Album

Tamar Braxton Explains Why She Added “She Can Have You” On Her Christmas Album

Tamar Braxton’s Christmas album, “Winter Loverland,” just dropped a few days ago. Of all the songs on the album, there are four original songs, including “She Can Have You,” which is a song she sings about a girl that’s alone on Christmas.

During a recent interview, Tamar dished on why she wrote that song and said she had to do something for the single women because that was here before she met her husband Vincent. She was always alone during the holidays and couldn’t figure out why.

I had to write a song for the single women who are alone on Christmas because that was me before I met Vince. I couldn’t figure out why I was always dateless and manless on Christmas. The name of the song is called “She Can Have You,” and I chose to write a song about that because I feel like most of the times we don’t want to be by ourselves, we tend to settle. Then on December 26th, he be acting the same damn fool that he was on December 23rd.

Very thoughtful of her! Have you all picked up a copy of Winter Loverland?

Texas gals Beyonce and Solange put on DJ Jubilee’s classic New Orleans Bounce track "Get It Ready" last night at Bey’s HBO Documentary afterparty at Christie’s.

Fashion designer Rubin Singer, who designed Mrs. Carter’s Superbowl halftime show look, caught the twosome on video dancing behind the DJ booth. Solo was on the turntables and Bey had her hubby Jay-Z‘s tie around her neck.

Fun times.

By the way, "Losing You" singer Solange–in addition to Trey Songz–just got added to the 2013 Essence Music Festival lineup’s main stage.  The announcement comes just days after her big sis was announced as a headliner.

CONFIRMED: Angie Stone & LaTocha Scott ADDED To “R&B Divas” Cast!

 photo rbdivasangiestonelatochascott_zps292c632c.jpg

It’s official!  Singers Angie Stone & LaTocha Scott will be bringing their lives to the new season of "R&B Divas" in Atlanta.  Deets inside…

Network sources have exclusively confirmed to TheYBF.com that TVOne’s hit show "R&B Divas" has two new cast members that can bring it in the talent..and drama…departments.

It was previously reported that Angie would joining the cast of ladies (including Syleena Johnson, Faith Evans, Monifa, Nicci Gilert & KeKe Wyatt).  But the second addition has been confirmed as former Xscape member LaTocha Scott.

Filming for Season 2 has already begun with Angie performing at the 2012 Soul Train Awards and LaTocha popping up on the red carpet of the 2013 Trumpet Awards

What are we looking forward to?  Well, Angie is the mother of singer D’Angelo‘s child.  And they had a long term relationship before he blew up in the industry.  And since we still harbor our crush on the mysterious sexiness that is D’Angelo…we’re just hoping to get a little tea on that.

As for LaTocha, her baby’s daddy is her manager.  That’s drama in itself.  And now that she’s working on her own new music, we’re hoping she spills some secrets about former Xscape members Tiny & Kandi Burruss that we don’t already know.

The official announcement about the two new cast members will be made soon.  And the premiere of R&B Divas (Atlanta) kicks off in April.

By the way, the L.A. spinoff of "R&B Divas" is indeed happening–eight episodes have already been ordered.  But the five cast members for that show have yet to be announced.

Will you be watching?

Shaquille O’Neal Writes Tell-All About His Money, HATING Kobe & LOVING Halle Berry + Brandy Added To “The Marriage Counselor” Cast

Shaquille O’Neal may not play professional basketball anymore, but with the release of his upcoming tell-all Shaq Uncut: My Story, he proves he can still unleash a "Shaq Attack." Get the deets on what he had to say about Kobe Bryant and LeBron James inside. Also, find out what movie Brandy started shooting today.

Shaquille O’Neal just released a "Shaq Attack" in the form of a new autobiography called Shaq Uncut: My Story. Co-written with author Jackie MacMullan, the book (due Nov. 15) is raising eyebrows thanks to Shaq’s candid talk about certain NBA players.  Here are some snippets:

On what really kicked off the Kobe Bryant feud

So I’m on edge because I don’t have a new deal, and Kobe is on edge because he might be going to jail, so we’re taking it out on each other. Just before the start of the ’03-’04 season the coaching staff called us in and said, "No more public sparring or you’ll get fined." … Phil was tired of it. Karl Malone and Gary Payton were sick of it. … So what happens? Immediately after that Kobe runs right out to Jim Gray and does this interview where he lets me have it. He said I was fat and out of shape. He said I was milking my toe injury for more time off, and the injury wasn’t even that serious. (Yeah, right. It only ended my damn career.) He said I was "lobbying for a contract extension when we have two Hall of Famers playing pretty much for free." I’m sitting there watching this interview and I’m gonna explode. Hours earlier we had just promised our coach we’d stop. It was a truce broken. I let the guys know, "I’m going to kill him."

On LeBron James being allowed to do WHATEVER he wanted in Cleveland

LeBron was a huge star. He was as big as I was in 2000 in L.A. when I was dominating the league. … Our coach, Mike Brown, was a nice guy, but he had to live on edge because nobody was supposed to be confrontational with LeBron. Nobody wanted him to leave Cleveland, so he was allowed to do whatever he wanted to do.

I remember one day in a film session LeBron didn’t get back on defense after a missed shot. Mike Brown didn’t say anything about it. He went to the next clip and it was Mo Williams not getting back and Mike was saying, “Yo, Mo, we can’t have that. You’ve got to hustle a little more.”

So Delonte West is sitting there and he’s seen enough and he stands up and says, “Hold up, now. You can’t be pussyfooting around like that. Everyone has to be accountable for what they do, not just some us.” Mike Brown said, “I know, Delonte. I know.” Mike knew Delonte was right. …

On Loving Halle Berry

I remember being in the dorm room one night and we were watching the movie Jungle Fever with Halle Berry in it, and I thought she was so stunning, so I wrote her a letter. I was just kind of kidding around, telling her I was a big fan and I’d love to meet her sometime. The guys totally goofed on me for doing it, but I didn’t care. A few weeks later, no lie, Halle Berry wrote me back. She sent me a signed picture that I still have hanging in my office. Turns out she’s a basketball fan. She wrote, "I’m a big fan of yours, too. I can’t wait until you get to the NBA."

On stacking his money as a retired baller

"They’ve already got some things cooking in Hollywood for me. Adam Sandler called me in June 2011 and said, "I want you to be in some of my movies."

I’ve stayed fairly low-key about what I own. For instance, out of the fifteen twenty-four-hour fitness places I own, only three have my name on it. None of the Five Guys I own have my name on it. None of the clubs I own in Vegas, either.

But I wonder will he address Shaunie, Laura Govan, and all that drama.  That’s all we really want to know more about anyway.

And look who has a new job:

Brandy, who is currently guest starring on "90210," has been added to the cast of Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor. Earlier today, she tweeted,

First day on the set of Tyler Perry’s new movie "The Marriage Counselor"!!! God is sooooooo Good!!!

Hmmm…..with Kim Kardashian also appearing in the film, I wonder if Tyler fixed the schedules so that the two don’t run into each other?  We ALL know the Norwood family isn’t a big fan of the Kardashians…especially after a few lawsuits got tossed around between the two of them….

MUSIC FAB: “Watch The Throne” Goes Platinum + Bow Wow Added To Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Tour

It took them a month, but The Throne’s disc Watch The Throne has been certified platinum by the RIAA. Get the deets inside and find out which one of Chris Brown’s besties will be going on tour with him next month.

The days are long gone when Jay-Z or Kanye West could drop a disc and go platinum in a week. However, it’s better to reach platinum over time….than to never see it at all.

Although it took them a month, Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch The Throne collab has been certified platinum by the RIAA.  And I’m sure the sales will increase once the tour starts rolling through various US cities.   Could double or triple platinum be in their future?

Also in music….

Bow Wow has been added to Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. tour and will hit the road with the "Kiss Kiss" singer next month on October 7 in Tampa, FL.

When asked about the tour Bow Wow said,

“It’s gon’ be fun. Me and Breezy are brothers, man. Our fans know that.  It’s just a different energy when we are on the same bill together or in the same arena. The fans know what to expect, and that’s a hell of a show.”

Bow Wow is set to release his 8th album, Underrated, on December 6, which will be followed by a tour in Japan later this year.  Hmm….wonder if he has any song’s about his "ex" Angela Simmons on there?
