Last night, a trio of R&B/Pop starlets took over NYC.  See Rihanna, Ashanti and Ciara all looking freakin’ fabulous for their night on the town…

Looking flirty and feminine, Rihanna was spotted looking stunning while leaving her hotel following the conclusion of the North American leg of her "Diamonds" World tour.

As she headed to one of her favorite restaurants, Da Silvano, RiRi flew solo rocking a daring un-buttoned multiprint Balmain blouse showing off one of her many tattoos. And she paired it with a super cute mint green mini skirt and her fave nude Louboutins.

Despite knowing that Chris Brown was in town, it was no surprise that the two never crossed paths as he’s recently revealed that they’ve gone their separate ways.

She and her mom were all smiles as she promoted her starring role on the hit series "Army Wives."  Gorgeous look for Ashanti.  And much to our surprise, she’s doing pretty well with her acting on the Lifetime show.  Congrats to her!

AWKWARD??!! Ashanti INTERVIEWS Ex-Boyfriend Nelly About The “TYPE OF GIRL” He Likes And Working With Chris Brown

Ashanti sat down with her ex-boyfriend Nelly to talk about his relationship dealbreakers, working with Chris Brown, and the type of girl he likes.  And surprisingly…the ex-couple were so warm towards one another it’s hard to imagine why they ever split!  Watch the interview inside… 

 

In her new capacity as the host of "FUSE News", Ashanti landed her ex-boyfriend Nelly for one of her first major interviews…and the segment went over exceptionally well!  As the ex-couple dished about Nelly’s career and the state of hip hop, they laughed and giggled and even talked about the type of woman Nelly is looking for.  

Though that might have proved awkward for most former lovers, the pair laughed through it and Nelly revealed that he liked a nice "pair of thighs" while looking right at hers!  Here are the highlights:

On the type of girl he likes and dealbreakers:

Bad breath is a dealbreaker.  I don’t want someone who lacks the confidence in who they are. I think we would hit the wall. And a nice set of thighs always helps!

On the state of hip hop:

It’s not my position to judge whether it’s in a bad situation. Obviously hip hop is created for the youth by the youth, and it has to make the same mistakes we made.  I think it’s on a braoder scale as far as globally.  It’s the most dominating music around the world.

On how he’s evolved since Country Grammar:

I’ve been through so much in my personal life, I’m just here to celebrate I ain’t where I could be.  

On "Merry Go Round" with Chris Brown:

I was working with Da Internz and we called Chris up.  At this time, he needs to know who’s riding with him or not.

Ashanti is spending her days in L.A. working away on her new album Braveheart.  And she took some time away from the studio to grab lunch at The Ivy.

Ashanti‘s looking gorgeous in her new promo shot for her new role in Lifetime’s series "Army Wives".  Check it inside, plus new flicks from her role for the new season…

"The Woman You Love" singer Ashanti is putting on her actor’s at as one of the newest cast members of Lifetime’s #1 drama "Army Wives."

Her newly released promo shot is a fab one, and more deets and pics from her new role as "Latasha Montclair" is officially underway.  Season 7 of the show premieres March 10th with 13 episodes, and here’s a few of the first shots of Ashanti in her role:

She has a dog named Tucker and, according to BlackFilm.com, is a mother of three with a husband who is deployed:

Ashanti will make her series regular debut in "Army Wives" as “Latasha Montclair,” a force of nature and an indomitable spirit for whom “southern hospitality” isn’t just a concept, it’s a way of life. Latasha finds joy in navigating the daily chaos of singlehandedly wrangling her three children while her husband, “Quincy” (Joshua Henry, Godspell, The Scottsboro Boys), is deployed overseas.

YBF actress Wendy Davis will also be returning to her long time role.  And Brooke Shields has also been added to the cast.

Clive Davis’ annual Pre-Grammy dinner was overflowing with celeb power last night.  And we’ve got all the YBF folks who rolled through inside.  Including Ciara holding hands with her boo Future, J-Hud, Ashanti, Nicole Richie, Tyra Banks, Ne-Yo and plenty more…

Jennifer Hudson threw on a pretty & flirty nude Maria Lucia Hohan dress and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals for the biggest Pre-Grammy event of them all.  She posed it up  with Mr. Clive himself on the red carpet of his & The Recording Academy’s 2013 Pre-GRAMMY Gala and Salute to Industry Icons honoring Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

NEW GIG: Ashanti LANDS Leading ROLE On Lifetime’s “Army Wives”

"The Woman You Love" singer Ashanti has landed a new gig, in addition to her FUSE Tv show, in Hollywood on Lifetime’s hit drama "Army Wives." Find out who she’s playing inside…..

Ashanti is making big moves in Hollywood having landed a series regular role on Lifetime’s "Army Wives."  Ashanti, who’s been taking on acting roles since her 2002 appearance on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," will play Latasha Durant on the Lifetime series. Her character is described as "an optimistic mother of three, a sexy, fun woman who knows how to keep a husband – and how to keep him in line"

Ashanti isn’t the only new addition to "Army Wives" as the series has also hired Torrey DeVitto and Elle McLemore as regulars. The show starts filming Season 7 in mid-December in Charleston, South Carolina. 

Hmmm.  This is one of my fave shows and not sure how Ashanti’s going to mesh with the rest of the very talented cast.  Apparently, a few of the roles are now going to recurring status with one of the lead roles, Kim Delaney, leaving the show entirely.  So now’s Ashanti’s chance to make a name for herself on tv….

It’s that time of the year when celebs step out in full force for Denise Rich‘s Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. The Foundation funds medical research for prevention and treatment of Lymphoma, Leukemia and related cancers.  And plenty of your faves were on hand to support the cause of the 16th annual Ball.

In a stunning cobalt blue gown with two slits and a pair of sky high black ankle strapped heels (yes we’ll admit that we finally like one of Kanye’s picks) Kim K. stepped out of Kanye’s Soho apartment with her boo Moday night to hit the event.  And Kanye, looking dapper in something else other than leather pants, put on his best camera ready face:

Angela Simmons looked great in a deep pink one shoulder gown with a wrapped slit.  And she accessorized with cobalt blue accessories.  Gorgeous look.

Solange & Tina Knowles put on their chicest prints for the evening.

And Mama Tina’s face is looking snatched to the lords of Botox.  Not mad.  She looks fab these days.

R&B songstress Ashanti turns 32-years-old today.  Celebrate with the fab chick inside….

Singer/songwriter Ashanti celebrates her 32nd birthday today.  And with over a decade in the music industry, her talent (and cuteness) has helped her maintain a place somewhere in hip hop culture.

And whether she’s in movies or her own music videos, she’s always been a postive role model for youngins.  Now with her Written Entertainment label, she’s set to get back to doing what she does as a songwriter and producer.

Nelly and Ashanti were spotted partying at The Compound in ATL Saturday night.  Check out pics of them getting extra cozy while dancing it up, plus partying with Ashanti’s sis Shia and Jermaine Dupri inside…………

Nelly (with a red cup) and Ashanti were spotted arriving at The Compound in the ATL last night.  Even though they still don’t talk about their couple status 10 years in, the two don’t try to hide their googly eyes in the club.

Ashanti kept it sexy and showed off her flat abs with her skin tight leggings and revealing crop top.  The new anchor of "FUSE News" will drop her Braveheart album in January.

‘Shanti and Nelly were boo’d up all night and seemed to be having a ball.  Not mad.  Ashanti’s looking gorgeous these days.

Jermaine Dupri also got in on the action.

Nelly, who appears on CW’s "The Next" as a mentor, will compete with Ashanti on the charts as his M.O. disc comes out at the end of the year.

Ashanti also posed with baby sis and recent college grad Shia.

MUSIC FAB: Fat Joe’s “Pride N Joy” Video Ft. Kayne West, Ashanti & Miguel + Avant Ft. KeKe Wyatt’s “You & I”

Fat Joe teamed with Kanye West and Miguel for his "Pride N Joy" video, which features appearances from other artists like Ashanti and Jadakiss. Also, Avant has reunited with singer turned reality chick  KeKe Wyatt for a new R&B track called "You & I."  Check both out inside….

For his Hype Williams-directed video for "Pride N Joy," Fat Joe brought out Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, Busta Rhymes and Ashanti. Each of the celebs taped their scenes for the clip at a studio in Brooklyn.

Explaining why he made the song, Fat Joe said, “I think hip-hop needs to see unity,” said Joe. “This whole song been about unity, bring back that De La Soul, that Tribe [Called Quest].”

Ashanti continues to look hot by the way.  Can’t seem to figure out why her singing career stays lukewarm though.

Also……..

Singer Avant, who’ll be performing in Johannesburg on Sept 29, has released a new track featuring his fave collabo partner ("Nothing In This World") KeKe Wyatt.  The track, "You & I," is an R&B balled (written by Avant himself of course) that shows off both of their killer vocals.  It doesn’t impace radio until September 10th, but we’ve got it for you now.

The twosome recorded the song for Avant’s upcoming untitled studio album dropping early 2013, and it will also appear on KeKe’s forthcoming album.  On the Oct. 1st episode of "R&B Divas," we’ll see the two hit the studio to record the song since cameras were rolling during the production.

Meanwhile, now that "R&B Divas" is a hit, KeKe may be on her way to getting the fame and recognition she deserves.

On another note, we’re told that we’ll get to see just what led to KeKe having such unhealthy relationships with men and what caused her low self esteem when "R&B Divas" sheds light on the abuse she suffered from her father.
