R&B singers Ne-Yo and Ciara were spotted courtside watching the Indiana Pacers school the New York Knicks yesterday at Madison Square Garden. Ciara, who recently made Blackvoices Celebs Who Overdress For Basketball Games list, looked cute and happy on the sidelines while Ne-Yo was captured looking serious and deep in thought.
Could be that he took five minutes out of his game time to address Beyonce fans on twitter who were slamming him because they thought he had dissed Beyonce in a recent radio interview. See what he had to say and more pics below:
Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y’ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y’all even listen to what I said!?! I said I originally wrote the song for me. That’s true, so OF COURSE I didn’t want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME…….Once I realized how the song comes across if sang by a guy, that’s when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that…….Y’all should listen a lil’ harder before you start dissin’ people. Makes you look real dumb. I’m tired of being nice to dumb people…
…Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain’t SMART enough to understand what I truly meant……..Last time y’all will EVER get any of my time or attention. My twitter time is now for those that deserve it, MY FRIENDS, MY FANS, MY FAM!! Haters die slow. At the Knicks game. GO GET EM’ MELO!!
Ciara and Adrienne Bailon turned the basketball court into a fashion show. CiCi whipped out a deadly pair of platform heels, leather pants, and coat while watching Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks defeat the Utah Jazz, grabbing a seat alongside Carmelo’s wife La La Vazquez. La La’s son Kiyan celebrated his birthday and “aunt” CiCi surprised him with a mini Enzo Ferrari.
Adrienne Bailon also strutted her style in a high-shouldered black blazer and cleavage-bearing top, chatting with gal pal Bridget Kelly of Roc Nation. The former Cheetah Girl played paparazzo, snapping pics of the players with a borrowed camera.
Ciara rooted for the Knicks and their newest star player Carmelo Anthony as the New York team took on the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden on Friday (March 4). A smiling CiCi kicked it courtside in thigh-high denim boots with Carmelo’s wife La La Vazquez and her son Kiyan Anthony, who sat on his “aunt’s” lap. Despite the Knicks loss, the BFFs still had a rollicking time, playing with Kiyan and snapping photos on their phones.
The R&B singer recently flew to Vancouver to shoot scenes for the “Hellcats” TV show. “I want my fans to know that I’m enjoying myself and I think that’s important for them to know that I’m OK,” a resilient Ciara told Rap-Up TV. “CiCi’s gonna be grinding all day. It doesn’t stop, never changes.”
Ciara ignited a war of words with Rihanna when she appeared on E!’s Fashion Police to rip on red carpet looks , and, apparently, air out some dirty laundry on the pop star.
“I ran into her recently at a party and she wasn’t the nicest,” CiCi said. “It’s crazy because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done with fashion and I’ve ran into her before, but this time it just wasn’t the most pleasant run in.”
The comment obviously peeved RiRi off, causing the pop princess to take to Twitter to issue a scathing comeback. “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme” Ouch!
Both singers went back and forth, never tweeting directly to each other, in an exchange that was equally as horrifyingly childish as it was epically entertaining.
Ciara: “Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off stage.”
Rihanna: “U gangsta huh? Haaa.” “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
Soon after, Rihanna issued an apology that read more like sarcasm than a genuine truce. “Ciara baby, I love u girl! You hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup”
Whether or not the apology was sincere, CiCi accepted. “Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. You threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let’s chat in person.”
Rihanna ended the twitter feud (for now) with one last retort. “Joke,” she tweeted. We’re not exactly sure what she meant by that, but we have three guesses: a. She called Ciara a joke; b. She meant the apology was a joke; or c. She meant the entire back and forth was a joke.
Shooting back at rumors that Jive Records had dropped Ciara from its roster, the R&B princess is telling her side of the story. In a Facebook post on her page, CiCi tells her fans that she has asked to be released from her contract with Jive after they failed to give her control over decisions regarding her past two albums. She explains that with her latest single “Gimmie That,” the label tried to prevent the track from getting play on the radio and that she had to fund its promotion out of her own pocket. Get the full scoop from Ciara herself.
This week the net has been a buzz of the rumor that I have been dropped from my label. At this point that rumor is false.. It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me. I have had some great times and success with my label, but sometimes like all great things, its at that point where I feel we don’t share the same views on who I am as a artist. The past two albums have been very frustrating for me. At times there were songs I chose to lead a project and I was ignored! This project, I even tried to get Gimmie Dat started I spent tens of thousands of my own money only to hear the radio pds tell me my label didn’t want the song played. I even spent more than one hundred thousand dollars out of my pocket on the video to bring my vision to it and still no label support. I do understand that some labels are not financially supporting their artists and I have become one of them. You, my fans, know that I strive to do my best to deliver to my you the best songs and creative vision I possibly can. I’m dedicated to my music, performance and to my fans! I’ve tried to be a team player with the label only to have compromised what I truly believed.. And was not given the right opportunity to promote and inform my fans of the release of this album..I have so much of me as a artist I still want to give to the world and my fans. A release would allow me to go be creative with people who care and understand me as a artist. In a short time, I will be able to bring to you a new music energy and a visual excitement! Thank you so much for standing by me through the good, bad, and the confusion. I love you all.
