Lenny posted a pic of Jay, rocking a Soulland brand "BOURGEOISIE" shirt, in the studio with Drake today working on some new music.  He said, "Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION."

The two also collabo’d on "Light Up" on Drake’s Thank Me Later album.  We’ll see how this new collabo sounds…

And in other comeback news, Janet Jackson is working on a new project.  Woot!  Nope, she didn’t let her brand new (secret) marriage and recent muslim conversion halt her music career.

She told Billboard on the anniversary of her janet album yesterday about her new project, the artists she’s feeling, and how she feels about being two decades in with one of the most iconic albums (7x platinum) of all time.

May 18 marks the 20th anniversary of "janet." How would you describe what that album captures about your life at that time?
I can’t believe it is already 20 years! I always write my music based on what is going on in my life at the time. I wanted to allow people in… I want my fans to really know me. The ‘janet’ album was sexual and I was beginning to really discover that side of me.

There are musical references and direct samples of janet. songs all over the place now, most notably on Kendrick Lamar’s "Poetic Justice." Have you heard most of these re-interpretations (Moon Boots’ "Sugar," which samples "If," How To Dress Well’s cover of "Again," MNEK’s "That’s The Way Love Goes" etc?) And how does it feel to see your work have such impact on new artists?
I have listened to the music that is out there and I love Kendrick’s "Poetic Justice." There are artists, true performers that have come before me who have been a big inspiration to me. I hope I do the same for others.

Several of the songs on janet. and their accompanying videos were groundbreaking at the time for their overt sexuality. Why was it so important for you to express that part of yourself in your work, and how did you convince others around you at the time to let you take those risks?
Like I said before, I write about my experiences or things that touch me deeply. I was really beginning to get in tune with my sexual self. This is what I wanted to express so I did. The decision to move forward in an artistic way is mine. I didn’t need to convince anyone.

The videos and tour for "janet." featured some iconic choreography from Tina Landon, most notably on ‘If.’ Do you have a favorite dance or video from that period?
Tina Landon and Omar Lopez choreographed "If". I love "That’s The Way Love Goes," "You Want This" and especially "If." I don’t think people really realize what we were showing in that video that wasn’t available with technology then. The video featured futuristic technology, specifically high definition touch screens. I wanted the actors in the video to use these screens to communicate, and relate with each other in the clubs. Similar to what we all do with our smart phones and tablets today. As I look at our lives now, it seems that life is imitating art. I have seen different elements from all of these videos in lots of artists work and it’s a great feeling to know that you have inspired them in such a way.

Many artists cite you as a role model and a huge influence on their career and image. Which artists today do you admire?
I’m flattered that other artists consider me a role model. I’m really enjoying what Bruno Mars and Adele are doing, a lot of artistry there.

And she says about releasing her first project since 2008′s Discipline:

“I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music.  I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process.”

We’ll be (impatiently) waiting….

Fashion trailblazer Pharrell Williams has been added as a mentor to Rihanna’s US competition show "Styled To Rock."  Get the deets inside and see what Sweet Brown revealed about her upcoming reality show…

Executive producer Robyn Rihanna Fenty is bringing her "Styled To Rock" competition series to The STYLE Network, and producer Pharrell Williams has just been named one of the mentors.  The US-based series will follow the same format as Rihanna’s UK show of the same name, where 12 up-and-coming designers are given the opportunity to create unique fashion pieces for A-list celebrity talent.

Salaam Coleman Smith, President, Style Media, spoke of Pharrell’s addition to the cast saying,

“We are delighted to have Pharrell, who is a driving force in both the music industry and fashion world, serve as a mentor on ‘Styled to Rock.” Pharrell’s unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna’s vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends.”

The 10-episode series is slated to premiere in 2013.

In other new gigs….

Everybody’s got time for a reality show!  Sweet Brown, who became a viral sensation with the phrase "Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That" talked to TheGrio about her rags to riches life story and how she’s parlaying that into a new reality show.  She describes The Sweet Brown’s, as “a fish out of water, rags to riches series, that’s a combination of The Jeffersons and The Beverly Hillbillies.” She added, “It’s gonna be hilarious. You’re gonna really crack up.”

Also, she wrapped up an appearance in Tyler Perry’s next film, A Madea Christmas and will appear in a new movie alongside Gabrielle Union and Louis Gossett Jr.

And if that weren’t enough on her plate, she has a slew on ventures lined up, including a game application, cookbook, and a BBQ sauce called Oh Lord Jesus it’s a FIRE.

And if you were wondering what she thought about Charles Ramsey, she said,

"One similarity that I see, is that we love people. We gon’ help people. What Charles did was great. Because I have daughters and if my kids was missing that long I would want a good Samaritan to rescue my baby. Don’t leave me in the dark. Let me baby come home. So what Charles Ramsey did… I think it was a good thing; thumbs up, Charles.”

See Sweet Brown dish on her new life in the clip above.  Kudos to everyone.

YBF’S MOTHER’S DAY EXCLUSIVE: Actress Reagan Gomez Dishes On How SHE Wins The ‘Working Mom’ Struggle

 photo ScreenShot2013-05-12at91227AM_zps12b33ede.png

We met her in her first starring role as the cute teen everyone had a crush on during "The Parent ‘Hood" TV show back in 1995.  Now, Reagan Gomez is 33, a wife of 14 years, a mom to two ridiculously cute kids, and one of the (politically) feistiest chicks we know on Twitter.  And while she expands her acting career into the world of creating her own web series around black actors, she’s had to fight to win the struggle of every working mom: Being the best available mom to your kids while simultaneously giving your best to your career.

In a special Mother’s Day post for TheYBF.com, Reagan dishes on how she wins that ‘working mom’ battle in the acting world…

 photo ScreenShot2013-05-12at90848AM_zpse41ceb4a.png

Reagan Gomez (pictured above in the studio where she creates her webseries "Almost Home") pens her own advice, exclusively for TheYBF.com, about how she and other mothers can beat the working mom struggle:

Being a mom has totally changed my perspective on many things…including the business.  Having my children has really inspired me and given me the courage to get behind the camera.

I had my daughter, Scarlett, after my last tv show (Love, Inc.) ended (in 2006), and I immediately got "The Cleveland Show" which gave me SO much time at home with she and my son, Tyger, who’s now 2.  I never want to give that up.  Ever.  My family comes first.

I feel like so many women in the business have to put LIFE on hold, because we’re always waiting for that part that might change our lives.  I’m glad I decided to live my life.  Career and work will always be there.  My real blessing in life is my amazing husband and beautiful family.

-Reagan Gomez

Smart words from one of the most fab actress moms we know.  Reagan, who’s joining the cast of TV One’s "Love That Girl" next season, also relived the days of her second pregnancy as she showed her fans a never-before-seen pic with her two babies:

 photo ScreenShot2013-05-12at90424AM_zps6dbd6e22.png

She said, "Nothing better than posting a, "ready to pop" preggers pic for Mother’s Day, as you slide into your skinny jeans. I was 8 months in this avi.  And lemme tell you…..I’m getting heartburn all over again just looking at this Avi! Lolol! Ladies, we go through a lot. Love being a mom!

And you can check out the latest installment of her webseries, "Almost Home", with this episode featuring Jackie Long:

"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest talked to “Extra’s” Terri Seymour recently where he disputed rumors about Mariah Carey being replaced by Jennifer Lopez. He said, "I had not heard about that before that report. I saw Mariah that day and she was firmly planted in that seat, and I see her tonight and I think she was firmly planted in that seat, I don’t think she is going anywhere.”

Meanwhile, Mariah’s good friend and fellow "AI" judge Randy Jackson added, “It’s so weird, it sounds so ridiculous… you hear rumors about these shows all the time. This one was so ridiculous of an idea… anyway, I think that would have hurt a lot of things.”

Brandy COVERS “PYNK” Magazine, DISHES On MEETING Ryan Press, WHY She Feel UNDERRECOGNIZED, And POSSIBLY Playing WHITNEY HOUSTON

 photo pnb1.jpg

"The Game" star Brandy posed for the latest cover of PYNK Magazine where she reveals how she was courted by fiance Ryan Press, if she feels undervalued by the music industry and possibly bringing Whitney Houston’s story to life.  Read the interview inside….

 photo pnb2.jpg

R&B starlet Brandy sat down with PYNK Magazine for their latest issue where she opened up about a possible return to reality televison and revealed that she’d love to bring Whitney Houston’s story to life.  "The Game" star was also very candid about the performance of her album Two-Eleven and if she feels that her contributions to the music industry have gone unrecognized.

Here are the highlights:

Do you feel like your growth and evolution as a woman influenced the creative process behind ‘Two-Eleven’?

“Yes, for me that’s the only way I can put the album together because I can’t put my all into a song if I haven’t experienced or watched someone else experience whatever it is I am singing about. With [‘Two-Eleven’], it was really about me reconnecting with my confidence and rediscovering who I am.”

You hit the ground running with the release of ‘Two-Eleven’. You were everywhere promoting the album. Do you feel as though your hard work paid off? Were you pleased with how the album performed?

“I feel like my hard work paid off because my fans love the album. Of course, I would’ve wanted the album to reach more people but I just feel blessed to be able to do what I love. Sales chart positions and all of those things don’t really define me…I define me.”

How do you feel about the current state of R&B? Are there any newcomers you listen to and would like to collaborate with?

“I’m not okay with the current state of R&B. That’s why ‘Two-Eleven’ was so important to me. I wanted to do an album that contributed to that genre of music. I think it was very necessary for the music industry and the hearts of people. As far as newcomers, I hadn’t really been paying attention because I was so focused on the album but I can’t help but pay attention to Kelly Rowland. I admire her so much and would love to collaborate with her. Beyoncé is phenomenal and Rihanna is amazing too.”

You’ve helped to musically influence an entire generation of singers and many of your fans feel that you have gone unrecognized for the impact you’ve had on R&B music. Do you agree? Why or why not?

“Sometimes I agree with it because I know there are a lot of talented people that have shown me a lot of love on top of my fans really expressing their love for me. Sometimes I think your ego gets in the way because you know you want everybody to feel that way about you. You want to get the credit. You want to get the props but I try not to live in that space because I know it’s ego. I’m just happy with being me. I’m happy with being able to be so connected in my being that I’m able to express that in my music. There are so many people who get the credit but they’re not really connected to their music. I would take the honesty and the connection with my music over the credit any day…but both would be nice! [laughs]”

You’re returning to “The Game” as Chardonnay for another season. What can viewers and fans of the show expect to see from your character this season?

“This season you’ll see Chardonnay find her place in this new football world. She’s transitioning into being Jason Pitts’ wife but still trying to balance maintaining her identity. You get to see her develop this friendship with Tasha Mack and also more of the dynamics of her relationship with Jason. What they have is true love. She’s not into him for his money.”

You and your family experienced great success doing reality TV. Would you ever do reality TV again?

“You know, I think I did reality TV at the wrong time. When I was on [Family Business] I wasn’t as consistent in my career. I wasn’t connected to my purpose at the time. After that, I said I wouldn’t do reality TV again but there are shows out there now like the ‘Mary/Mary’ show that are good. I would consider it if it were centered more on my career.”

What would be your dream [acting] role?

“Honestly, my dream role would be to play Whitney [Houston]. I studied her growing up, I knew her. I just feel that connection with her. I would love to be able to play her. I believe it could happen.”

You recently became engaged. How did you and your fiancé meet and how did you know he was “the one”?

“He’s a music executive. So, we actually met in the studio a long time ago. We reconnected at a music event sometime later and when we talked, it just felt like I knew him. Then I would just run into him in random places in New York…I’d walk into a restaurant for lunch and he’d be there. I ended up running to him at another event and he kept staring at me the whole night. It made me so uncomfortable because I thought he was married. So, I told him that he should stop staring at me because he’s married and it’s not a good look. He was like ‘what are you talking about? I’m not married.’ [laughs] From there, we just started talking on the phone. Then, dating. When he told me he was relocating to LA for his job, I just thought to myself, ‘he’s going to be my husband’. I took that as a sign.”

How do you balance your career, motherhood, and preparing to become a wife?

“I don’t know! [laughs] It’s hard. I haven’t worked this hard in my life! My daughter has her own life now. She’s getting older so she has her own schedule now. Sometimes, I want her to travel with me and she’s like ‘no mom. I have a school trip I have to go on.’ [laughs] I have a great support system though. My fiancé, my mom and god-sisters they definitely help out.”

You seem to be very close with your mother. How has that relationship grown or changed throughout your career?

“I think in the beginning it was about trying to figure out how to wear both hats. Being the client and the daughter and for my mother being the mom and the manager. But the foundation has always been love, protection, and wanting the best for me. It took a lot of self work but I can tell her anything and I know she always has my back.”

PYNK Girls love fashion! Tell our readers who some of your favorite designers are?

“Let me tell you…I have found my personal style! Bohemian Chic is totally my thing. So, when I’m not on stage that’s how I’m dressed. I love Free People…I’m addicted [to their clothing]. Free People…I need an endorsement or something. [laughs] Let’s get it in!”

EXCLUSIVE: Tamar Braxton DISHES About CONCEIVING Her Baby, Pregnancy CRAVINGS And Celebrity PLAY DATES

 photo bbtamar1-1.jpg

"Love & War" singer Tamar Braxton spoke exclusively to TheYBF.com about juggling pregnancy and her burgeoning career. Find out how she does it inside…..

TheYBF.com attended a private viewing of "Braxton Family Values" with Tamar Braxton last night at the offices of Epic Records in NYC.  During our exclusive chat, the expectant diva dished about her pregnancy, her career and what she’s learned about herself from watching "BFV".

With her song "Love & War" still high on the charts, Tamar says she’s ready to juggle motherhood and an exciting recording career.

"This is something I want to do.  My career is really taking off and I’ve been waiting for this opportunity all my life. And I don’t want to miss one second of it.  I want to have my baby with me.  But I don’t have to be at home."

Last season, "BFV" viewers watched as she struggled with fertility issues, but she jokingly revealed to us that she actually conceived her baby one "drunken" night. WOMP.

Though she wouldn’t confirm if her good friend Tiny was correct when she blurted out that Tamar was expecting a baby boy on "Tiny Tonight", she did say that she would have a celebrity play date with T.I. and Tiny because she trusts Tiny with her baby. And when it comes to the Braxton sisters, she thinks Towanda would be the best babysitter because she’s the most responsible.

We also talked about how she’s grown personally over the past few years. Since filming "BFV" and "Tamar & Vince", she told us that she realized everything doesn’t need a "comment."  And now that she watches her "comments", she’s in a better place with her sisters.

She also talked about husband and manager Vince Herbert whom her sisters call her "velcro" because they’re always together. She says they are celebrating their 10th anniversary this month.

 photo bbtamar2-1.jpg

Tamar was glowing in a short maternity dress which she paired with a black blazer and black Christian Louboutins.

 photo TEPIC1.jpg

She says she’s been craving Apple Fritters from Dunkin Donuts since the pregnancy.

 photo TEPIC4.jpg

We also talked to producer LaShawn Daniels, the writer of "Love & War". He revealed that he’s committed to Tamar’s project because she’s like family to him.
