Nicki Minaj Reaches Double Platinum Status with ‘Pink Friday’

Arguably, 2011 was the Year of the Barbz. Nicki Minaj ruled the charts and the airwaves with her debut LP ‘Pink Friday.’ The rap vixen’s hard work has certainly paid off as her album hit double-platinum (2 million shipped) before the close out of 2011. Minaj announced on her Twitter of her recent achievement, stating, “World Wide sales: @NickiMinaj, Pink Friday 2.2million.”

Minaj won’t be resting on her rap laurels in 2012. Up next is her highly-anticipated sophomore effort titled ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ which hits stores on Valentine’s Day. However, there’s nothing loving about Minaj’s evil alter ego Roman Zolanski. Judging by the song ‘Stupid Hoe,’ the haters are going to feel the wrath of the Big Zo.

The Young Money queen recently shot videos for both ‘Roman in Moscow’ and ‘Stupid Hoe,’ which is expected to hit the Internet in a couple of weeks. Minaj plans on twerking and eating fried chicken in her ‘Hoe’ video. “Barbz, shld i twerk in the stupid hoe vid???” she asked her tweeples. “But i 4got my twerkin moves … dang.”

We wish Nick Minaj a successful 2012 with her new album and upcoming projects.

GORGEOUS PICS: Pregnant Nia Long Goes NUDE For EBONY’s November 2011 Double Cover

Pregnant Nia Long is baring all…literally…for the November 2011 double cover of EBONY magazine.  The 40-year-old actress has her ripe baby belly and glowing skin on full display.  And we’ve got her gorgeous nude (but tasteful) pics inside….

Nia’s in her last trimester and likely dropping this baby any day now.  So why not document the moment with a nude double magazine cover.  The West Indie industry vet (she’s been in the business 2 decades already!) posed with just her arms covering her chest, hair flowing, and tummy on full display.

It’s been 10 years since she was last pregnant, and she still makes carrying a baby look fabulous.  EBONY also reveals that Nia opens up for the first time about her childhood and this surprise pregnancy:

DOUBLE TAKE: Tia, Tamera, & Baby Cree Get CUTESY For Wendy Williams

Our fave twins are making their promo rounds.  Tia Mowry Hardrict and Tamera Mowry Housley brought baby Cree Hardrict along for the twins’ appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show" this morning.  And we’ve got pics of the fab threesome inside….

How cute is Baby Cree!  Too cute to leave back in L.A. obviously.  New mom Tia brought him to NYC for the twins’ promo rounds as they pub their season finale for next week of their reality show "Tia & Tamera."

And they were all spotted leaving after the taping:

Tia told Wendy she’s already lost 40 pounds of her baby weight and she’s getting in shape to start taping next season of "The Game."  The twosome also hit "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen last night.  And they revealed they’re ready to kick off some type of product line–whether its fashion or beauty…it’s all up to what their fans want.

Wanda Sykes REVEALS She Had Breast Cancer AND Underwent A Double Mastectomy

In a shockingly candid interview with Ellen DeGeneres (airing on Monday), funnywoman Wanda Sykes (shown above with wife Alex) reveals that earlier this year she discovered she had breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy.  Get the deets inside….

 

Leave it to comedienne Wanda Sykes to find the humor in her cancer diagnosis.  In an interview that airs on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, the 47-year-old revealed "I had breast cancer. Yeah, I know it’s scary."

Wanda says she discovered the cancer after going in for a breast reduction.

"I had real big boobs and I just got tired of knocking over stuff. Every time I eat — oh lord.  I’d carry a Tide stick everywhere I go. My back was sore so it was time to have a reduction."

She continued, 

"It wasn’t until after the reduction that in the lab work, the pathology, that they found that I had DCIS [ductal carcinoma in situ] in my left breast.  I was very, very lucky because DCIS is basically stage-zero cancer. So I was very lucky."

So faced with a hard decision, Wanda opted for a double mastectomy.

"I had both breasts removed, because now I have zero chance of having breast cancer."

She then explained how she arrived at the hard decision….

"I had the choice of, you can go back every three months and get it checked. Have a mammogram, MRI every three months just to see what it’s doing," she explained. "But, I’m not good at keeping on top of stuff. I’m sure I’m overdue for an oil change and a teeth cleaning already."

It’s good to know that Wanda is doing well now.  And we will be seeing a lot more of her.  She added that she’s taken on cancer as one of her charitable causes.

"I was real hesitant about doing this, because I hate walking. I got a lot of [cancer] walks coming up."

As NY fashion week ended days ago, wohoo.co.uk rounded up the fresh crop of YBF models who rocked the runways of Lincoln Center (and will probably hit Paris, London and Milan) and are on the verge of becoming the next big things in the industry. 

Meet Josilyn Williams, Marquita Pring, Shena Moulton and Melody Monrose inside.

 

Josilyn Williams

A sixteen-year-old native of Alabama, Josilyn Williams (represented by DNA Models), is one of the freshest faces to hit the New York scene and is sure to make an impact in editorials and on the runway.    

 

Marquita Pring

Hailing from Albany, the native NY chick rose to fame nationally this year when she was chosen as the face of Levi’s latest campaign.  Signed with Ford models, Marquita walked in Jean Paul Gaultier’s Paris show and appeared in the spring issue of "V" magazine.

 

Shena Moulton

With editorials in "Teen Vogue", "Russian Vogue" and "Harper’s Bazaar" under her belt, Jamaican-born model Shena Moulton, landed her biggest gig yet when she was chosen as the face of Marc Jacobs‘ latest campaign. Shena is signed to Muse Models in NY and has walked in high profile shows for Calvin Klein, Isaac Mizrahi and Jil Sander.

    

  

Melody Monrose

A native of Martinique, Melody Monrose has had a stellar season with high profile editorials in "Italian Vogue", "Harper’s Bazaar", "V Man" And "V."  She’s signed with Silent Models in Paris and recently rocked runways for DKNY, Max Azria, Gucci and Prada.
