“Scandal” Season Finale Breaks Its Own Ratings Record + Kerry Washington & Shonda Rhimes ATTEND “An Evening With Scandal”

Kerry Washington was joined by series creator Shonda Rhimes and her fellow "Scandal" co-stars for "An Evening With Scandal" last night.  Get the deets on the series pulling off its best ratings yet inside….

Last night, Kerry Washington (shown above with co-star Jeff Perry aka meanie Cyrus) attended "An Evening With Scandal" presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood last night.  Our fave fashionista "fixer" wore a pink sleeveless frock with a cute bow at the waist.

Meanwhile, series creator and head writer Shonda Rhimes wore a stylish blue coat as she celebrated what became the series’ best night ever!  Last night’s season finale (that had us laid out with multiple wine bottles and a racing pulse) became the series’ most watched episode, easily winning its time slot and reaching an all-time high in each of the key women’s demographic groups (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

Also, the show ended the season as ABC’s most social program with over 4.3 million tweets. The season finale had over 571,353 tweets alone (the highest of any episode)!

TV personality Shaun Robinson turned up in a sexy hot pink frock.

And the season finale’s breakout star, Joe Morton, (whom you may remember as Sen. Byron Douglas from "A Different World") was all smiles.  We’re sure Joe knows that his name is on the tip of everyone’s tongue today.  And every Scandal fan knows why….

Last night, Candice Glover became the first female to be crowned the "Amercian Idol" in five years. Along the way, celebs like Tamar Braxton, Jennifer Hudson and Aretha Franklin were there to cheer her on. See pics and performance from Mariah Carey and others inside….

As she showed off her baby bump and mother’s glow, Tamar Braxton walked the red carpet last night for the Season 12 finale of "American Idol" where Candice Glover was crowned the winner.  Tamar tweeted her support saying, ‘Get it Candice! !! #REALSINGINGSTILLMATTERS’

Meanwhile, as she prepares to give birth, Tamar is riding high on the charts with her breezy summer jam, "The One."

The Queen of Soul, Aretha Frankin, also made an appearance on the show.  Via satellite, the queen of soul belted out a medley of hits with a few of the female finalists.  She told the two finalists, "Candice, tonight you are a winner, win or lose you are a winner, you and Kree both have promising careers."

And former "AI" contestant turned Oscar-winner superstar Jennifer Hudson returned to perform with Candice.  The two dueted with Natalie Cole’s "Inseparable".

And then there’s Mariah…..

Mariah Carey made what might be her last appearance on "AI" (as a judge) last night.

In true diva fashion (with a diamond microphone stand) Mariah performed a seven-minute medley of some of her biggest hits like only she can, including "Vision of Love", "Make it Happen" and "Hero" with fellow "AI" judge Randy Jackson on bass guitar. She also sang her latest hit "#Beautiful".

In a feathered fishtail dress, adorned with crystals, Mimi rocked the stage BEFORE Jennifer Lopez. And with Nicki Minaj AND J Lo in the building, we would have loved to be a fly on the wall backstage. We’re sure the diva-tensions were high.

Jennifer Lopez closed out the show with her latest single "Live It Up" featuring Pitbull. And in case you we wondering, Mariah "smiled" throughout the performance….because she knew we were watching.  Gotta love her.

Kanye West is set to close out the 38th season of "SNL".  Get deets on his appearance inside and hear Iggy Azalea’s "Bounce" record and get Kelly Rowland’s official release date…

 

"SNL" just announced that Kanye West will join Ben Affleck on May 18 for the "SNL" season finale.  The show tweeted,

It will be the rapper’s first appearance on the show since 2010.  Meanwhile, Ye is gearing up for a huge summer with new music, a headling gig  at the Met and he’ll become a father! 

And we’ll be tuning in to see if he debuts any new music on the show…..

Rappy Iggy Azalea may be bubbling under in the US,  but she’s on fire in the UK!  Across the pond, she’s already pushing her next single "Bounce" from her upcoming disc The New Classic.  Newly signed to Island Def Jam, it looks like Iggy is making the most of her popularity in Europe and capitalizing on the popularity of electronic music.  And she’ll have them twerking on the dance floor with this one….

And Kelly Rowland has made it official….

After a name change and a few pushbacks, Kelly Rowland has an official release date for her fourth solo album, Talk A Good Game!

Republic Records will release the disc on June 18, the same week that Kelly’s scheduled to perform on ABC’s “Good Morning America”

Kelly told Billboard that the album "…feels like everything I wanted to make as far as music and R&B. I wanted to make sure my roots were really pronounced on this album.”

And fans will be pleased to learn that Destiny’s Child members Beyoncé and Michelle Williams appear on the disc’s song “You Changed.”

In tonight’s episode of the Breezy Love Chronicles, we’ve learned that tonight, after her live performance on the "X Factor UK" finale, Rihanna jetted over to Paris….were we know Chris Brown and his ex/sometimes ex/whatever they want to call it girlfriend Karrueche Tran are spending some time together.  This comes after her Twitter lash-out after she learned Kae made her way to the City of Lights.

So Chris was spotted leaving his hotel (the W) in Paris tonight on his way to Bercy’s Live Theater for his last concert in the city.  And amongst the tons of fans who were losing their wigs as he and his crew made their way to their tour buses, we spot Chris’ hat.  It says The Kill.  What’s that you ask?  That would be the name of Karrueche’s new clothing line.

Oh…how nice of him to give his "ex" some publicity.  It’s the least he can do when he has her and Rihanna pretty much publicly fighting over his boy bits.

That brings us to Rihanna’s next move.  After her performance at the finale for the "X Factor UK’, she hopped a plane to Paris and tweeted a pic from her hotel room (above) saying, "Risky business #paris".  Yeah…we’re sure honing in on Chris and Kae’s QT in Paris is indeed risky business. 

This ought to get interesting.

SURPRISE: Beyonce Shuts Down The Barclays Center Stage During Jay-Z’s Finale Concert!

Just minutes ago, Beyonce Knowles rocked a surprise performance during her husband Jay-Z‘s final (of a series of 8) concert at the Brooklyn Barclays Center.

 

Deets on Bey effortlessly shutting down the stage inside…

 

Beyonce surprised the sold out crowd of 18,000 at the Barclays Center Saturday night by hitting the stage to perform a high energy "Crazy In Love" & "Diva" set with her man.  Dressed in all black–a leathery top and bodysuit/shorts with boots & a Nets cap (pictured in above pics)–Queen Bey made an effortless cameo with her dancers that sent the crowd into a frenzy.  She even gave a special birthday shout to her bestie Gwyneth Paltrow who turned 40 last week.

Jay took the stage again after Bey dropped the mic and sashayed off the stage.  He told the crowd:

"Of course I had to let BK touch the stage in BK. Well, BKC now."

Hov also took the Subway system’s R train from Canal Station in Manhattan to Brooklyn today to get to his concert.  And he was spotted kickin’ it with fellow commuters:

Brooklyn’s own Jay-Z posted a picture perfect photo to his Life+Times website.  He’s seemingly on top of the world overlooking the new home of the Brooklyn Nets–the Barclays Center.

 

Check out the pic, plus the trailer for tonight’s live stream of his concert finale…

He calls it ‘The house that Hov built,’ and he’s pretty much right.  Even as only part owner of the Nets on paper, Jay has been the most influential in not only bringing the team to his hometown, but constructing the much needed publicity for the new NBA team. 

He posted the above pic of himself overlooking the arena, with the title "No Ceilings," saying:

On the roof at 560 State St. Words can’t describe.

Rihanna donned dreads tonight while Jennifer Lopez performed a new song with Flo Rida on "American Idol.  Watch the clips inside and see Jordin Sparks and Chaka Khan (who is back to her brickhouse days) perform for the big finale…

 

After arriving on stage in a pyramid, Rihanna revealed a long dreaded hairdo and a sexy midrift on "American Idol" tonight. Through smoky eyes, the singer lead a team of sexy dancers through her "Where Have You Been" performance.

And she tweeted these pics before the show:

She tweeted a few pics of her new dreads and choreographer HiHat backstage.  She said, Wake bake shake dem dreads.
