 photo d75SqmN_zps639dfa53.jpg

TLC has been officially revived….by three of their biggest fans.  Check out the first promo pic with Drew Sidora, Lil Mama and KeKe Palmer as TLC for the upcoming biopic….

VH1 has released the first official promo pic for "Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story".  And it made us do a double take.

Drew Sidora (as T-Boz), KeKe Palmer (as Chilli) and Lil Mama (as Left Eye) are going hard in transforming into the favorite girl group who sang, rapped and danced to the tune of bright colors, controversial safe sex messages and everything in between.

For the official promo shot, the three ladies re-enacted TLC’s 1992 album cover for Oooooh On The TLC Tip…. And we’re actually feelin’ it.

The TV movie was shot in just a few weeks in Atlanta recently, and will give the story of how TLC rose to fame, their trials and tribulations with money and managers, and what went on in their personal lives.

The "TLC Story" airs this November, and you can calm your nerves because the girls will be lip synching to TLC’s actual music.  T-Boz & Chilli, the two surviving members, served as consultants on the movie.

Will you be watching?

COMING OUT: NBA CENTER Jason Collins PENS Open Letter On Becoming “The First Openly Gay Professional American Athlete”

 photo tumblr_mm0w4s4ZDw1qm9rypo1_1280.jpg

On the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, debuting May 6, NBA Center Jason Collins pens an emotional open letter where he announces himself to the world as "…the first openly gay athlete."  Read the letter inside…

The first few months of 2013 have definitely been interesting as far as sexuality and disclosure are concerned, as we’ve watched several high profile situations play out on social media…starring African American men.  While we watched Magic Johnson’s son EJ openly embrace being "outed" by the media, we’ve also seen the flipside as NFL free agent Kerry Rhodes refuted his "outing" despite a growing amount of "evidence" to suggest the contrary.  And we’ve also seen Sen. Kelvin Atkinson of Nevada come "out" during "gay marriage" talks on the floor of the state senate.  Now…enter Washington Wizards baller James Collins.

Everyone was tipped of during the midst of the EJ vs. Kerry "outings" that there would be at least four professional athletes coming out over the next few months and surprise surprise…..it’s a "brother" leading the way.

It’s only fitting that at the opening of his emotional letter to SI, James, who’s now a free agent in the NBA, addresses himself first as an athlete, then by his race, and lastly…by his sexual preference.  And here in America…you already know which category will be his "lead" for the rest of his life….and he’s fine with that.

In his letter, readers unfamiliar with James will learn a lot about his life, including that he has a twin brother Jarron (who also played in the NBA) and random fact– actor Jason Segal was his backup during their high school days at Harvard-Westlake in Cali

But what’s most interesting is how the Boston Marathon bombing played a role in his decision to live his truth.

He wrote in Sports Illustrated:

I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.

I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn’t the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, "I’m different." If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I’m raising my hand.

My journey of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement began in my hometown of Los Angeles and has taken me through two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.

I’ve played for six pro teams and have appeared in two NBA Finals. Ever heard of a parlor game called Three Degrees of Jason Collins? If you’re in the league, and I haven’t been your teammate, I surely have been one of your teammates’ teammates. Or one of your teammates’ teammates’ teammates.

Now I’m a free agent, literally and figuratively. I’ve reached that enviable state in life in which I can do pretty much what I want. And what I want is to continue to play basketball. I still love the game, and I still have something to offer. My coaches and teammates recognize that. At the same time, I want to be genuine and authentic and truthful.

Why am I coming out now? Well, I started thinking about this in 2011 during the NBA player lockout. I’m a creature of routine. When the regular season ends I immediately dedicate myself to getting game ready for the opener of the next campaign in the fall. But the lockout wreaked havoc on my habits and forced me to confront who I really am and what I really want. With the season delayed, I trained and worked out. But I lacked the distraction that basketball had always provided.

The first relative I came out to was my aunt Teri, a superior court judge in San Francisco. Her reaction surprised me. "I’ve known you were gay for years," she said. From that moment on I was comfortable in my own skin. In her presence I ignored my censor button for the first time. She gave me support. The relief I felt was a sweet release. Imagine you’re in the oven, baking. Some of us know and accept our sexuality right away and some need more time to cook. I should know — I baked for 33 years.

When I was younger I dated women. I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue.

I realized I needed to go public when Joe Kennedy, my old roommate at Stanford and now a Massachusetts congressman, told me he had just marched in Boston’s 2012 Gay Pride Parade. I’m seldom jealous of others, but hearing what Joe had done filled me with envy. I was proud of him for participating but angry that as a closeted gay man I couldn’t even cheer my straight friend on as a spectator. If I’d been questioned, I would have concocted half truths. What a shame to have to lie at a celebration of pride. I want to do the right thing and not hide anymore. I want to march for tolerance, acceptance and understanding. I want to take a stand and say, "Me, too."

The NBA Commissioner David Stern and others have already written statements of support.  NBA champ Kobe Bryant tweeted today:

Proud of @jasoncollins34. Don’t suffocate who u r because of the ignorance of others #courage #support #mambaarmystandup #BYOU

E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles looked amazing.

 photo whc20142.jpg

Funnyman Conan O’Brien had the audience in stitches with jokes like,  "I have a question, and I think some of you also have this question. It’s been several months since you were reelected, sir, so I’m curious, why are you still sending everyone five emails a day asking for more money? You won! Do you have a gambling problem we don’t know about?"

"Did you put it all on Gonzaga?"(A reference to the president’s NCAA March Madness college basketball bracket) "You did, didn’t you? He did!"

 photo whc2014.jpg

And President Obama wasn’t a slouch in the jokes department either.  He entered the room to the turn of DJ Khaled’s "All I Do Is Win" and told the audience, "I still make rookie mistakes..’Like, I’m out in California, we’re at a fundraiser, we’re having a nice time and I happened to mention that Kamala Harris is the best looking attorney general in the country. As you might imagine, I got trouble when I got back home. Who knew Eric Holder was so sensitive?"

 photo span1.jpg

And while joking that, "I’m not the strapping young Socialist that I used to be", he took a page from out of the FLOTUS playbook and added "bangs" for a fresher look.

ALTER EGO: First Look At Jamie Foxx’s “Nerdy” Side Of His Electro Role In “Amazing Spiderman 2″

 photo JamieFoxxseensetAmazingSpiderman2WestV5rI7PJg0vpl_zpsfc7fcefa.jpg

Jamie Foxx‘s Amazing Spiderman 2 hair and makeup team is wrong for this.  Check out Electro’s nerdy alter ego on set for the first time inside…

Look, we get Electro’s alter ego is a nerdy electrical engineer and lineman.  But did his tacked on thinning hair need to be all waved over looking like they couldn’t decide between finger waves and a comb over?

Oh wells.  We’ve got a YBF actor in the major role of a villain this time around, so we’ll take what we can get.

In the words of Tamar Braxton, They Tried It with this hair and makeup.  But anywho, here’s the story behind his character, whose alter’s name is Maxwell Dillon for you non comic buffs.  According to the ever so informative (when it’s correct) Wikipedia:

While he was repairing a power line, a freak lightning accident caused a mutagenic change that transformed him into a living electrical capacitor. His powers were initially weak, so he spent some time stealing electrical equipment from Stark Industries to charge himself. During this time, he was approached by Magneto, who considered him a potential recruit for his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, claiming that Dillon’s power rivaled his own, but Dillon refused. The following day, Dillon was confronted by a small-time thug from whom he had been borrowing money to pay for the machinery he had needed. When the thug drew a gun on him because he had not paid back the money yet, he responded by shooting a blast of lightning through the thug’s chest- the first time Dillon ever killed anybody.  Soon taking the name Electro, he turned to a life of a professional criminal.

Can’t wait!

MONEY TEAM: Jay-Z & Beyonce Named Music’s First Billion Dollar Couple? + Jay Pops Up At Mrs. Carter’s Croatia Tour Stop

 photo Jay-Z-And-Beyonce-Cheering-02_zps3eba866a.jpg

No amount of controversy is stopping The Carters from cashing in HARD at the bank.  The powerhouse couple have reportedly just been named music’s first billionaire couple.  Deets inside….

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Jay-Z & Beyonce have turned their last 10+ years as a couple….into a billion dollar empire.  And you’ve got to respect a YBF couple for turning that out.

According to International Business Times, Shawn Carter & Beyonce Knowles Carter are the first couple in music to join the billion dollar club with their joint incomes.

The dual 2013 VOGUE cover girl is reportedly set to rake in $ 116 million on her Mrs. Carter World Tour.  And in addition to that rumored $ 50 mill Pepsi campaign and multi million dollar H&M campaign, Beyonce helped pushed the couple’s joint money power across that billion dollar mark this year.

Jay is super successful in his own right, of course, constantly topping FORBES richest Hip Hop artists lists and his stakes in beauty companies, music companies and sports teams.  And now, pending his approval from the NFLPA commission, he’s about to start funneling NFL clients into his own Roc Nation sports agency, with the help of CAA.

FORBES’ highest paid celebrity couple of 2012 is now our first billionaire couple in music.  And since we doubt either of them are about to stop raking in money anytime soon, Blue Ivy and her great grandchil’ren are already set for life!

Marriage can be one of the best business deals in the game, especially when the love seems genuine as well.  Can’t be mad at that.

And as Bey made her second tour stop today in Croatia, her ever supportive hubby was hiding out in the soundbooth watching her do what she does best:

Magic Johnson’s Son E.J. Grants First Interview About COMING OUT, Being ATTACKED, And Becoming A Role Model

 photo ej-johnson-gwissues-full.jpg

E.J. Johnson gave his first interview since coming out a few weeks ago where he reflected on the "outing", revealed his thoughts about attacks on his character and how he hopes to inspire others through his experience. Watch the interview inside….

After his "outing" made headlines around the world, E.J. Johnson (who has the full support of his famous father, mogul Magic Johnson) spoke to "Gwissues" host and interviewer Howard Bragman (who’s also his publicist) about what life has been life since he was first "outed" and how he hope to use this experience to help others. He also addressed the barrage of criticism that was directed his way via social media and how he was able to lean on his family for support. Here are the highlights:

On being "outed":

"For me, it was really surprising because I didn’t think it was gonna be that big of a deal. I had been out to my friends and my family for at least five years. It was almost as if I was coming out of the closet again so like reliving the experience has just been both exciting and interesting rather because I’ve been through it but to have the media involved is just different but I’m reveling in it.

"I always wanted to come into the spotlight.  I always had dreams and plans of doing my own thing and creating my own image, so it came a little sooner than I thought it would but this is still something I knew I would be going through and would have to experience."

On social media attacks:

They’d say nasty things about me and what I’m doing … It’s almost like they’re attacking me for being me…..and so to that I can only say, ‘Well, I can only be myself, so I don’t know really what you want me to do.’”

On receiving support from his family:

"I am very, very, very blessed to have the family that I do. My parents have always been super supportive. My sister and I have always been really close and she’s been really supportive as with my brother. When it was time to come out, I was, obviously, scared as most people are. After I got all the love and support from my family then I knew I could go out and conquer the world, I guess."

On coming out to his parents, Magic and Cookie:

"I told her how I was feeling and she obviously told me that she had known and always would love me anyway. The same thing happened with my dad like a year or so later. Everyone has to get used to it. No parent is prepared 100 percent and fully for something like that. We all had to work and move forward."

On being a role model:

"I definitely want to set a really good example….I would love to have a talk show someday and just be another voice for [my] generation and, you know, be the voice for young gay people who need someone to be on TV or wherever else to talk to them, and talk about all kinds of issues that all of us face. Not just homosexual issues, but all kinds of issues."

FIRST LOOK: Jamie Foxx GETS SCARY & Suits Up As ELECTRO For “Amazing Spider-Man 2″

 photo spj1.jpg

Onlookers got their first glimpse of Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx in his new role as the villain of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 yesterday.  Find out who he’ll be playing inside….

 photo spj2.jpg

Yesterday, comic book fans in Times Square got their first look at Jamie Foxx in his upcoming role as the villain in the next Spider Man film.  In the Mark Webb-directed action flick, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Jamie will star as Maxwell Dillion alongside Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Jamie’s character is an electrician who gets struck by lightening and develops the ability to control electricity.  As a result of the "shock", he emerges as the super villain Electro.

When asked how he developed the character, he said, ‘I’m going to keep it close to the chest but I followed the Spider-Man comic books. He added, "And I would watch the television show growing up. It’s a blessing."

And while Jamie’s gearing up to play a villain on the big screen, he discovered that the internet is full of "villains" as he was viciously attacked on Twitter for wearing a T-shirt paying tribute to Trayvon Martin & the Sandy Hook school shooting victims to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.  Unnecessary and sad.

So far, Jamie hasn’t addressed the slew of racial insults sent his way, but he did tell MTV, ‘We’re just thinking about the children… we’re just protecting our kids.’
