Rock It or Knock It: Lady Gaga Turns Heads in Her Faux Dreads

I’ll be the first to say it: I’m low-key here for Lady Gaga’s fake dreadlocks. Ok, there I said it! Per usual, Gag was a site to be seen at the Capital FM Jingle Ball concert with her faux dreadlocks, flawless make up and a Versace Blue and Gold Sea-star Pant Suit. Giving us a cross of Little Mermaid meets Gwen Stefani, the singer strolled the carpet and served face for all the cameras. Are you feeling this look on her? Sound off below!

Lady Gaga Gifts Blue Ivy With ‘Little Monster’ Onesie

While Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s pals are gifting them with loads of posh, luxe gifts for week-old daughter Blue Ivy, which they are donating to charity, Bey’s ‘Telephone’ partner Lady Gaga sent the infant a cute and customized onesie that could only have come from the likes of Gaga. We’re hoping that Bey holds onto this gift for her little girl.

According to The Sun, Gaga sent a onesie with the words “Little Monster” scrawled across the front in pink diamante. Gaga’s supreme token of affection to her fans is her pet name for them, so labeling Blue Ivy as such is Gaga’s way of bestowing her love. Blue Ivy has led a charmed (and busy) life in her initial week on earth, appearing in a song, landing on the Billboard charts, receiving a gift and concert invite from Gaga. Lucky gal!

Sources report that Gaga included a note telling Bey that Blue needed to wear the onesie to her first Lady Gaga concert. While Gaga and Bey aren’t besties or BFFs, they have remained close and stay in touch via text and email ever since they worked on ‘Telephone’ together. The sources says that Gaga knew Bey would find the gift “hilarious.”

Paws up, Blue!

PopCrush’s Sound Off had one of it’s closest and biggest battles ever yesterday, with Lady Gaga‘s new single ‘Marry the Night’ going head-to-head with Rihanna‘s latest ‘Talk That Talk’ track ‘You Da One.’ Despite thousands of votes from RiRi’s Navy of fans, Gaga’s little monsters prevailed with more than 53% of the votes. Now, Mother Monster is going up against Chris Brown and his latest single ‘Strip.’

Lady Gaga delivers yet another epic dance-pop song with ‘Marry the Night,’ a powerful track with some rock elements and heavier techno effects. Gaga keeps consistent with the song’s title by incorporating church chimes and electro organs as she passionately belts out the lyrics to ‘Marry the Night.’ On the other hand, Chris Brown’s ‘Strip,’ which features a rap verse from ‘Deuces’ collaborator Kevin McCall, is a sexy R&B jam with speedy snares and high-pitched electro keys. The catchy song is classic Breezy, with a groovable backbeat and lyrics about getting down and dirty with the lady of his dreams.

So, it’s time to sound off! Which song do you like better? Cast your vote for either Lady Gaga’s ‘Marry the Night’ or Chris Brown’s ‘Strip’ below.

Rules of ‘Sound Off’:
There’s only one rule for our ‘Sound Off’ series: If a song remains the reigning champ for five straight days, it is retired to PopCrush’s ‘Sound Off’ Hall of Fame. With tons of great tracks coming out everyday day, we have to give other artists a chance to win!

Jay-Z & Beyonce Have Gone “Partially Vegan” Since Pregnancy + Lady Gaga DISHES To Steve Stoute About The Throne And Hip Hop’s Impact On Her Music

Since the announcement of her pregnancy, it’s been revealed that Jay-Z and Beyonce have gone partially vegan. Get the deets on their new lifestyle inside and hear Lady Gaga sing the praises of Watch The Throne while talking to Steve Stoute about The Tanning Effect and how it changed her music.

Jay-Z is clearly a "hands-on Dad" having adopted his wife Beyonce’s eating habits since her pregnancy.

A source close to the couple revealed to US Weekly that since Bey’s pregnancy, the couple are maintaining a "partially vegan diet."  The source said,

"Jay’s trying to be disciplined, and he needs the energy to support her."

Clearly the vegan diet is giving them a lot of energy as the couple were recently spotted "dancing up a storm" at The Spare Room at the Hollywood Roosevelt.  "They were loved up and sweet together [and] partied until 4 a.m." the source said.

Also in music…

In the latest edition of his series "The Tanning Effect" best-selling author Steve Stoute talks to Lady Gaga about the global impact of hip hop and how it has inspired her.

Lady Gaga on what’s on her iPod:

I listen to a lot of heavy metal and a lot of old rock & roll and glam music. But actually recently I’ve been listening to the new ‘Ye and Jay record [Watch The Throne] kind of on repeat. I love it. Not only do I love the music—and I’ve always felt that Jay-Z and Kanye [West] are ahead of their time…the video for “Otis” is just something so incredible about the fact that they took this car [and destroyed it]. Years ago they would’ve shined the Maybach up, waxed it, shined a beautiful light off of it, and would’ve heralded the newness, and expensiveness, and the luxury of the vehicle. And yet, they walk in, and they fuck this car up, and it’s all about saying, “Hip-hop has changed and we’re moving in a new direction.”

On hip-hop’s influence on her music:

I think it was always the lifestyle of hip-hop, the sort-of celebration of decadence is the cherry on top of success. After you eat shit in the industry for so long, once you make it to the top you bring all of your friends with you and you celebrate. That was always my favorite thing about my favorite hip-hop artists. In fact, it influenced me so much that when I would be interviewed early on in my career about my success&amdash;and I would be so confident about it, so forthright about it—people would say, “Well, she’s this female pop singer. She’s from New York. She’s [22 years old]. Why is she talking like that?” But I was raised through music watching and idolizing these people that come from the streets or worked from the ground up. I thought, “Well, if you really worked for it—which I did—you should emulate that sort of gratitude.”

On transcending race, age, and sexual orientation:

The most basic thing I can say is that there’s nothing exclusive about what I do; nothing exclusive about the music; nothing exclusive about the approach; nothing exclusive about who’s invited to the party. Everybody’s invited to our party. There’s really no group or lifestyle that I don’t sing about. In a way, it’s the inclusion of all types of people to come together and get to know one another that’s sort of the greatest thing about the Monster Ball.

Amy Winehouse’s Dad Wants Lady Gaga to Play Amy in Biopic

Amy Winehouse‘s dad, Mitch Winehouse, has been tasked with managing his daughter’s posthumous work — like helping to promote her new album, ‘Lioness’ — but it sounds like he’s moving into the role of casting director next, at least unofficially.

Mitch told the Sunday Mirror that he’s “heard that Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film,” and he’s all for the idea, although he expressed concerns about her ability to pull off Amy’s signature accent. “I don’t know what her English accent is like,” he said, “but it’s not just an English accent she would have to perfect — it’s an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practicing now! But she would be great.”

Better still, at Tony Bennett’s birthday party recently, Mitch sat at a table with Lady Gaga’s parents. “They are just normal folk and very lovely people,” he said. So he’s got a family connection, too!

Given Lady Gaga’s long-documented admiration for Amy — Gaga even visited Amy’s home in London several weeks ago, and rumors have been flying about Gaga playing Amy in a film for months — we wouldn’t be surprised if Hollywood came calling sometime very soon. If Gaga can fit it into her already packed-schedule, that is.

Laurieann Gibson DISHES On FEUDING With Diddy And CREATING Lady Gaga

In the latest issue of "BE" (Beauty Elegance) Magazine, Laurieann Gibson reveals deets about her feud with Diddy and how she created megastar Lady Gaga. Get the highlights inside….

Although most folks know her for her work AND dramatic split with megastar Lady Gaga, famed choreographer Laurieann Gibson is stepping out from behind the shadows and proving she is a creative force to reckon with.

Having worked with everyone from Nicki Minaj to Mary J. Blige, Laurieann recently dished to BE Magazine about her public blowout with P.Diddy and how she helped build Lady Gaga.  Here are some highlights:

You’ve pulled off some funky hairstyles. Was there a favorite?

"I think it’s when I shaved my sides off. I like less hair on my head. It was a great way to dance and not have the weight on the side of my head. It looked good and punky and funky. It was a rebellious, permanent accessory.

You had a public feud with Diddy. Where do you stand with him now?

"He’s my brother. At the time [of our feud] I didn’t know I was getting popular. He was reacting and was trying to keep me in a state of mind where I didn’t know. I don’t let anyone disrespect me…he came at me. I went on my own way. It was great. We spent a year developing our relationship…I was really happy when he called me."

What is it about Lady Gaga that got people so enamored with her?

"I think they are enamored by the movement of it. She allowed my gift to do what it does…She broke through and allowed it all to happen. She’s so brave. She’s so fearless. Some artists, they won’t let go. She”ll let got. A lot of the time I work with artists who are afraid."

In her photos for the magazine, she rocks looks from Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Nicole Miller and Giuseppe Zanotti.
