Rock It or Knock It: Lady Gaga Turns Heads in Her Faux Dreads

Gag

I’ll be the first to say it: I’m low-key here for Lady Gaga’s fake dreadlocks. Ok, there I said it! Per usual, Gag was a site to be seen at the Capital FM Jingle Ball concert with her faux dreadlocks, flawless make up and a Versace Blue and Gold Sea-star Pant Suit. Giving us a cross of Little Mermaid meets Gwen Stefani, the singer strolled the carpet and served face for all the cameras. Are you feeling this look on her? Sound off below!

In the latest issue of BILLBOARD Magazine, the gorge Janelle Monae reveals that she’s ready take her music mainstream with her upcoming disc, Electric Lady.  The disc (no release date yet) will feature star turns from Prince and Miguel and is ready to set radio on fire.  In the cover story, Atlantic Records Group chairman/COO Julie Greenwald tells BILLBOARD,

"This album has a lot of songs that can get played on mainstream radio. Before, we got a lot of attention in the press, on the blogs, on the video networks. But we didn’t crack the code at radio. So if you connect that last dot, it’s going to be a significant improvement from the last album cycle. Which is really going to put her music in so many people’s homes."

Throughout the profile piece, Janelle describe the how she’s decided to shape and define her career on her own terms and how her struggle is universal. Here are a few quotables…

On individuality and controlling her own destiny:

"I never liked people telling me what to do," she says. "I also wanted to own something: I’ve always had this thought of owning my own label, of being in charge of my words, my art, everything you hear. My goal wasn’t to be the most famous person overnight — it was to make music on my own terms, develop myself and understand if my words were necessary to young people like myself and to make my family proud."

On the meaning of the song "Q.U.E.E.N.":

"I feel like there are constant parallels with me as a woman, being an African-American woman, to what it means for the community that people consider to be queer, the community of immigrants and the Negroid-the combination between the ‘N’ and the android. All of us have very similar fights with society and oppressors, with those who are not about love, who are more about judging. There are two different types of people: Some people come into this world to judge, some people come into this world to jam. Which one are you? It’s a question we should all ask ourselves. My job is to create art that starts a dialogue, to create songs and lyrics that ask society these questions, by using myself as a sacrificial lamb."

CAUGHT ON TAPE: First Video Of First Lady Michelle Obama READING The Heckler + Diddy BREAKS OUT His “Private Jet” Dance

 photo ht_michelle_obama_heckled_lpl_130605_wmain.jpg

It was the "reading" heard around the world as FLOTUS Michelle Obama took on a heckler during a DNC fundraiser this week. Watch the recently released footage inside and see Diddy busting out his hilarious "Jet Dance" on his own private jet….with Cassie.

A few days ago, FLOTUS Michelle Obama went in on Ellen Sturtz, a lesbian activist, who interrupted her remarks at a DNC fundraiser to demand that President Obama sign an anti-discrimination executive order.

Now that video of the confontation has emerged, we get to see Mrs. Obama and her bangs swoop off the lectern and into action!  And for the record, President Obama and The White House stand by the First Lady.

“It is my opinion that she handled it brilliantly,” a spokesperson said.

And somewhere in front of a private jet….

As Diddy preps to launch his music-themed cable network "Revolt" next month, he posted a video of himself today dancing in front of his private jet.  This guy is really going to get #DiddyJetDance trending all over the globe!

Hip Hop heads all know that Diddy got his start as a background dancer so it’s no surprise he busted a move on the tarmac and the jet with the airport staff looking mad confused.  Hilar!  With Cassie watching him from her seat on the jet, Diddy pops and locks to Problem’s "Like Whaaat" featuring Bad Lucc.

Corporate Hood.  Loves it!

CELEBS GIVE BACK: FIRST LADY Michelle Obama & Kerry Washington “FREEZE-DANCE” And Brings The “Arts” To D.C. Kids

 photo sac4.jpg

First Lady Michelle Obama joined actress Kerry Washington to help inspire community children to change their lives through the arts recently.  Find out where they went and what they did inside…

 photo MichelleObamaVisitsLocalWashingtonDCs1RIgCGUappl.jpg

First lady Michelle Obama and actress Kerry Washington appeared at Savoy Elementary School in southeast Washington, D.C today as part of the Turnaround Arts initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

The program gives grants to low-income schools, in an effort to improve students’ overall performance through arts education. Several celebrities have signed on for the program with  Kerry adopting Savoy Elementary and actor Forest Whitaker and actress Sarah Jessica Parker each adopting schools last month.

 photo MichelleObamaVisitsLocalWashingtonDC52MdDa_rjEfl.jpg

During her talk, which include a few dance moves, the FLOTUS touted Kerry for her committment to the program and enouraged the school kids to keep striving for success, even when faced with failure and rejection.

“Kerry got a lot of rejections She spent a lot of time developing her craft. She spent a lot of time practicing and working and trying out for things and having people tell her. ‘No,’ ‘No thank you,’ ‘You’re not good enough,’ ‘You’re not pretty enough.’ Could you imagine somebody telling Kerry that she wasn’t pretty enough, she wasn’t tall enough, she was too short? That’s all performing is, is rejection. … But when you work hard and you invest thousands of hours in anything, you get better. And that’s what you guys are learning here at Savoy.”

 photo sac1.jpg

 photo sac5.jpg

During her remarks, she also thanked Kerry for her level of involvement and called her a "friend".

"She’s not just a beautiful, fashionable, talented woman, but she’s real inside, and there is beauty deep inside. The fact that she is flying all over the country but she comes to spend time with you guys, and she does it for real; the fact that she’s taken time out of her schedule to come here today, it shows a level of respect for me, of course, and our friendship, but it shows more her love for all of you. So, Kerry, love you, girl. Keep it going. Very proud of you."

 photo sac3.jpg

And Kerry really threw her hat in the ring with the children…she kicked off her heels and joined the kids on stage for some and dance.

 photo sac2.jpg

Later in the day, Kerry also read stories to one of the third grade classes.

E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles looked amazing.

 photo whc20142.jpg

Funnyman Conan O’Brien had the audience in stitches with jokes like,  "I have a question, and I think some of you also have this question. It’s been several months since you were reelected, sir, so I’m curious, why are you still sending everyone five emails a day asking for more money? You won! Do you have a gambling problem we don’t know about?"

"Did you put it all on Gonzaga?"(A reference to the president’s NCAA March Madness college basketball bracket) "You did, didn’t you? He did!"

 photo whc2014.jpg

And President Obama wasn’t a slouch in the jokes department either.  He entered the room to the turn of DJ Khaled’s "All I Do Is Win" and told the audience, "I still make rookie mistakes..’Like, I’m out in California, we’re at a fundraiser, we’re having a nice time and I happened to mention that Kamala Harris is the best looking attorney general in the country. As you might imagine, I got trouble when I got back home. Who knew Eric Holder was so sensitive?"

 photo span1.jpg

And while joking that, "I’m not the strapping young Socialist that I used to be", he took a page from out of the FLOTUS playbook and added "bangs" for a fresher look.

 photo article-2283188-1835E02B000005DC-221_634x379_zpsbaa11825.jpg

First Lady Michelle Obama has been on a whirlwind press tour for the 3rd anniversary of her Let’s Move campaign.  Check out her funny "Mom Dances" video she did with Jimmy Fallon last night, and her interviews with Robin Roberts & Dr. Oz

Leave it to our fab First Lady to come up with something funny to add to her Let’s Move campaign.  Last year, she and ate night host Jimmy Fallon had their own version of the Olympics at the White House.  And last night, they put together a video of "Mom Dances".  Complete with Jimmy dressing in his own mom clothes and Mrs. O helping him with the dances every mom knows.

 photo article-2283188-18362CB1000005DC-814_634x382_zps2805520a.jpg

She got dressed in her usual fab gear during her interview though.  Check out the dance below:

And their sit-down below where Mrs. O talked about her hair and Twitter:

And her Let’s Move campaign:

Earlier yesterday, Mrs. Obama rolled to "Good Morning America" to tape an interview with Robin Roberts:

Our First Lady will also be making stops in Mississippi, Illinois and Missouri.
