Tamar Braxton Reveals Past History Of Being Bullied & Abused

Tamar Braxton Reveals Past History Of Being Bullied & Abused

By looking at Tamar Braxton and her life now, you would never know the kind of trouble she suffered while growing up and even some in her adulthood.

If you watched the previous seasons of “Braxton Family Values,” you would remember her talking to her friend April Daniels about her abusive past, but that’s not all, she was bullied as well.

In a recent interview with Ebony magazine, she revealed the details of her former abuse and being bullied.

I walked different, I had a different attitude, and I was picked on because I wasn’t like everybody else. You have to accept that about yourself. I think especially for women it’s important because it’s so hard for us.

I almost had to tell my story to each individual and then I decided that’s not what I’m going to do. I can’t make anybody believe, I can’t change anybody’s mind about anything. The abuse, it happened. I’m not all the way comfortable with sharing a lot of what happened to me yet, but what I said was true.

When I’m ready to talk about my abusive past I will, I’m sorry that I’m not. But if it wasn’t for God, I wouldn’t be here.

I was a shy person who had self-esteem issues trying to figure it out — now, I’ve gotten over my hangovers. You say, I’m comfortable and confident, it took a long time to get there. Maybe like a year or so before Braxton Family Values, I wasn’t that person. I was faking it til I make it, pretty much.

WOW! All we can say is look at her now!!!

Kelly Rowland: Beyoncé Had Nothing to Do With My Unhappiness in the Past

A lot of people have misconstrued the lyrics of the Kelly Rowland track “Dirty Laundry.” The song was about an abusive relationship, not whether or not Kelly was seething with jealously over being the Mary Wilson to Beyoncé’s Jigging Jesus Diana Ross.

She’s making it even clearer now in her ESSENCE cover story, in which Kelly opens up about her past bouts with unhappiness, but makes it clear that her Destiny’s Child band mate was not the source of it.

Kelly explains:

“For a long time I wasn’t happy, but that had nothing to do with Beyoncé. That had to do with me trying to get my life in order and make better decisions for myself. I’m seeing all these wonderful things happen for her and I am happy for her. But I want a path. I want things to pop off for me, too. Not on her level but whatever my level is supposed to be.”

This is a thoughtful, nuanced statement that stupid people predisposed to interpreting everything with a catty connotation will ignore in favor of their own preconceived notions about their relationship. I get it, though. Kelly was happy for her girl’s success, but was trying to figure out where hers was.

Good thing she’s enjoying it now. And frankly, at least she’s aware that everyone isn’t meant to be Beyoncé. Good for her because the Kelly Rowland life looks good in 2013. Now go buy Talk A Good Game.

Tamar Braxton DISCUSSES Her BATTLE With VITILIGO, HEALING From Her ABUSIVE PAST, Says She HASN’T Had Plastic Surgery

 photo bbtamar2-1.jpg

Reality tv star Tamar Braxton sat for a very candid interview with Ebony.com where she discussed issues with her skin, the abusive relationships of her past and addressed rumors of plastic surgery.  See the highlights inside….

As she prepares to become a mother for the first time, Tamar Braxton sat down with Ebony.com where she opened up about sensitive issues like her skin disease (vitiligo) her abusive past ("one of her ex-boyfriends had dragged her out of her apartment by her hair"), and plastic surgery rumors.   Though we think we’ve seen all there is to see with Tamar Braxton, her interview revealed a vulnerable side that’s never been exposed on camera.  Here on the highlights:

On Being Abused:
“I almost had to tell my story to each individual and then I decided that’s not what I’m going to do. I can’t make anybody believe, I can’t change anybody’s mind about anything. (The abuse,) it happened. I’m not all the way comfortable with sharing a lot of what happened to me (yet), but what I said was true. When I’m ready to talk about my abusive past I will, I’m sorry that I’m not. But if it wasn’t for (God), I wouldn’t be here.”

She added,

“My husband (Vincent Herbert) definitely doesn’t abuse me,”

On her struggle with Vitiligo:

Anybody with skin issues knows that that’s a very sensitive subject. And that’s why I’ve never shared that I have Vitiligo, because I do. I’ve always had it, since I was a young girl. It’s not as bad as others because everybody has it differently, but I’ve certainly had mine diagnosed. That’s why I tan. People say, “You bleach your skin!” But I tan just so I can have a better tone on my skin, boo!

It’s gotten worse since I’ve gotten pregnant. If you shake my hand now, to me it’s more noticeable. But when you get diagnosed with a skin disorder, it’s hard. It does weigh on your self-esteem. It really does.

On Plastic Surgery:

"I don’t have plastic surgery. I never had plastic surgery. I had a nose procedure done because I had to. I had no cartilage in my nose, I have a piece of cartilage from my ear put into my nose. I had a medical procedure done. I have no plastic in my nose. And when I shared that with the world, now I have Botox, and different kind of fillers. Now I touch my face, which I never touch my face…Everything is real on me."

But, she hasn’t written plastic surgery off, just yet:

"After I have my baby, I might can’t say that everything is real on me. I might get my breasts done. Who knows if my breasts gonna go down to my ankles–I can’t do that!”

The Best Man stars Sanaa Lathan and Terrence Howard are teaming up again for a remake of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.  Get the deets inside and find out what famous role Halle Berry is set to reprise…

Sanaa Lathan and Terrence Howard have signed on to join Blair Underwood and Evan Ross in a remake  of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The retooled film will be called Macbett and will shoot on location in Jamaica and Puerto Rico in September 2013.

Terrence, who also serves as executive producer of the film, will be working with writer/director Aleta Chappelle (who’ll make history as the first Black woman to direct a film version of the story).  Indiewire posted  the film’s  synopsis:

"after a gallant military victory, General Macbett (Wipes) encounters the “Weird Sisters,” who are the spirit daughters of Mother Africa and reign over fire, water, earth and sky. They delight in manipulating Macbett by feeding him predictions of royal titles including “King.” Macbett soon becomes obsessed with ambition, as does his beautiful and ruthless wife Lady Macbett (Lathan) .

"As Macbett and his Lady spiral downward, indulging in treachery and political assassinations, they are soon haunted by their murderous deeds and driven mad. In a true exemplification of a tragedy, Macbett is defeated by his own zealous thirst for power, a heartbreaking end to a once beloved Hero".

And in other news, Sanaa and Terrence will hopefully reprise their memorable role in The Best Man sequel called Best Man Holiday coming soon.

T.I. Says He’s Honest About His Troubled Past with His Children

T.I. and Tiny

Piotr Sikora, VH1

Rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, will invite viewers into their world in their new VH1 reality television show, ‘T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.’ The series revolves around how T.I. is adjusting to his new life after spending 11 months in prison from violating his probation on drug charges.

The Atlanta native insists he is open and honest with his six children about his troubled past. “I mean they haven’t seen drugs, but they’ve heard from the other kids in school about the lifestyle I used to live and we have very candid conversations,” he tells The Boombox. “Not only from me, but from their mothers. Tameka tells them how it was before they were born. And the children that I had before I met Tameka, their mothers tell them stories of how it was before. Hearing those stories and seeing where I am today, they see that growth, they see that evolution.” His wife Tiny adds, “They just want their daddy. They don’t care what’s going on.”

The couple admits that T.I.’s past incarceration has put a strain on their 10-year relationship, but they vow to make work. “I would never leave him,” says Tiny. “It’s just [we're] catching up.”

VH1 will premiere ‘T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle’ on Dec. 5 at 9PM EST.

Draya Michele TELLS “WENDY” She’s Cleaning Up Her Groupie Past, She’s Not A Bad Mom, & Chris Brown Was “Vulnerable”

Draya Michele, one of the most controversial castmembers of "Basketball Wives: L.A." stopped by "The Wendy Williams Show" today to dish on all the rumors about her parenting skills (or lack thereof), dating Chris Brown, and just how much she was really "passed around" the NBA.  Watch it inside…..

Earlier today, Draya Michele stopped by "The Wendy Williams Show" to clear up all the rumors we’ve heard about her even BEFORE she started on "BBW: LA."

Wendy wasted no time and asked Draya is she’s dated over a dozen professional basketball players.  And while she didn’t give a specific number, Draya made it seem as though 12 was too many.  Despite the fact we’ve seen her in thisclose pics with far more than 12 ball payers.  But we digress.

Wendy asked if she has really been "passed around" between three players in one night.  So Draya said,

“The three basketball players… I haven’t even been with three basketball players in one month, let alone day. I like to space them out a little bit.”

Oh…nice to know.  Wendy then asked if Draya felt like she would ever find a man who truly loved her since her "groupie" past is on full display.

She replied, “Anything you do in your past can be cleaned up.”

On the parenting issue, Draya tried to avoid the whole "child endangerment" arrest situation saying,

“I discussed it in 2010. I discussed it on the show, and it’s just like, I just want to move on with my life and show the people that I’m not this person that they created me out to be.”

Hmm……well, that isn’t exactly a denial.

Lastly, she talked about Chris Brown saying,

“Chris and I were together for about nine months.  I saw a different Chris Brown.”

She added that she caught him at a very vulnerable time in his life since it was after the Rihanna fiasco.
