Jennifer Hudson Channels Whitney Houston For GRAMMY Tribute + Halle Berry, Taraji, Usher & More CLEBRATE

A formal Whitney Houston tribute is on the way.  The GRAMMY organization hosted a big tribute that was taped last night at the Nokia Theater in L.A., and will air next month.  Check out Jennifer Hudson channeling young Whitney, plus Usher, Halle Berry & more celebrating the diva’s memory.  And, of course, Bobbi Kristina with her fiancee Nick Gordon

Last night in L.A., celebs were on hand for the We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston event.  And J-Hud stole the show by channeling one of Whitney’s 80′s looks as she performed in honor of the late star.  And we’re sure she did it right.

She rocked the stage with a medley of "I’m Every Woman," "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody".

Jenny also posed backstage with Britney Spears who was on hand, and Brit said Whitney’s "I Have Nothing" started her own music career.

Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina arrived in a red Herve Leger dress and strappy black sandals.  And with her new fiance, Nick Gordon, on her arm.

Krissy switched out her sapphire engagement ring for her mom’s diamond rings for the occasion.  And the twosome held hands and got extra cuddly while getting teary eyed during the show:

Meanwhile, Halle Berry took the stage to salute Whitney in the show’s introduction:

Gorgeous LBD for her.

LL Cool J hit the stage to offer up his memories.

And Taraji P. Henson and her questionable hairdo were there.

Usher performed "I Believe In You And Me."

And CeCe Winans performed with BeBe "Count On Me," which brought the whole crowd to tears.

Clive Davis was there to remember one of his closest friends, as well.

Celine Dion was also a part of the tribute, but had to tape her rendition from Canada of "Greatest Love of All," which was played on a screen for the audience.

"We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston" will be broadcast on CBS on November 13. The new reality show "The Houstons: On Our Own," premieres on Wednesday, October 24.

NEW GIG: Usher Set To Take Over “The Voice” As New Coach

Usher is gearing up alongside to Shakira to replace "The Voice" coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo.  Deets inside…

For the upcoming next cycle of "The Voice," Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo will be taking a season off to work on their music, tours and tv projects.  So, R&B/Pop man Usher has been tapped to keep one of the seats warm.  And Latin bombshell Shakira has been tapped for the other seat.

The show’s Executive Producer Mark Burnett said, “Usher is not just a singer or an entertainer, he is a global icon.”

The L.A. gig is also good for Usher’s new schedule as a full-time primary custody dad, so he canhave his boys in one place for a certain amount of time.

As for the semi-surprising change-up, Deadline.com reports:

When it expanded The Voice to two editions a year, NBC brass said that not all Voice coaches will be able to do both cycles of the reality singing competition because of the demands of their music careers. NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt said the network was “happy to accommodate” Green and Aguilera’s commitments. “The participants on our show benefit from our coaches’ expertise and their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return,” he said.

Both Christina and Cee-Lo will return the following fall.  You excited to see Ursh take on a prominent role on a music competition show?

Usher FILES MOTION To BLOCK Tameka’s Request For Child Custody RE-TRIAL

With Tameka Raymond hoping to reopen their child custody battle that she lost recently, singer Usher has filed a motion that he hopes will prevent that from happening. Deets inside…

According to TMZ, Usher Raymond has filed a motion he hopes will stop Tameka Raymond’s bid to get a new trial in their child support case.

Tameka is claiming that since Usher’s lawyer previously gave campaign contributions to the judge in their case, his ruling was biased.  So she wants another shot at proving her case.

Usher cried foul claiming that her motion was "an assault on the integrity of the court."  He argues that it would be time-consuming for every judicial case to be reversed simply because of campaign contributions.

He added that the motion "constitutes a continuum of [Tameka's] vile and unsupported claims that every person who dared testify against her … is biased and tainted."

Goodness.  We’ll see how this turns out……

2012 BET AWARDS PERFORMANCES: Kanye West, Usher, MMG, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj & More ROCK THE STAGE

Hitting the stage to perform "Climax," Usher was joined by music’s finest from Kanye West and Maze to Nicki Minaj and Chante Moore who all graced the stage for the 2012 BET Awards.  Watch performance clips and check the pics inside…..

Tonight’s 2012 BET Awards started off with a stellar performance by the G.O.O.D. Music Group who kicked off the show with their performance of "Mercy."  Lots of energy.  And Kanye’s semi-freestyle was something for the books.

And the planned "surprise" from Hov during The Throne’s acceptance speech (and hilariously interrupted ‘Ye later).

Rick Ross and his Maybach Music Group also hit the stage and performed hits including "Bag Of Money."

Melanie Fiona killed her performance of "The Wrong Side Of Love."  Chick’s peformance game has definitely been upgraded over the last couple of years.  One of my fave performances of the night honestly.

Another fave–Maze featuring Frankie Beverly performed on tv for the first time ever (WTF took so long–they are royalty!).  And a tribute to the group included performances by Joe, Tyrese and Faith Evans.

A shirtless Chris Brown, who had half of his body painted like a robot, performed "Don’t Wake Me Up" including a series of stunts and acrobatic moves.

Chante Moore did a hot tribute to Donna Summer where she performed "Bad Girls" and "Love To Love You Baby."  And don’t miss the super high note she hits at the end.

Also…….

D’Angelo made an anticipated return to the stage where he performed "Untitled" & more.  Unfortunately….the shirt stayed on.  But he sounded like he never left.

Kevin Hart‘s Real Husbands of Hollywood returned starring Kevin and Samuel along with Anthony Anderson and Faizon Love.  Fun-ty.

Nicki Minaj showcased her ASSets during a performance of "Beez In The Trap" where she was joined by a cadre of sexy female dancers.

For the Whitney Houston tribute, Monica performed "I Love The Lord" while Brandy sang "I’m Your Baby Tonight" & "I Wanna Dance With Somebody."  Loved her channeling young Whitney.  The ladies were followed by an emotional tribute from Nippy’s brother Gary Houston and her mom Cissy Houston. Cissy left everyone in tears with her take on "Bridge Over Troubled Water."  Afterwards, Chaka Khan came out to perform "I’m Every Woman."  The tribute kicked off with an openng from Mariah.

Tyga also hit the stage to close out with "Rack City" and Cash Out.
